Item Description

THE BEATLES- HEY JUDE

EXTREMELY RARE 1970 UK PARLOPHONE EXPORT PRESSING LP IN STRONG VG TO VG CONDITION

This is certainly one of the rarest and most desirable of all British issued Beatles albums and nearly impossible to find in such great condition. This pressing variation of this export LP was most likely released in early 1970. This Parlophone label variation was manufactured in very limited numbers compared to the more common Apple label export pressings. They were exported to countries that Apple had yet to establish its trademark so it was given Parlophone labels to avoid any copyright issues. This copy is the very rare version with the large indentation ring or groove on the label that was originally thought to have been pressed by Decca as it closely resembles the groove that are unique to their pressings instead of just having the 1 1/4 indentation ring common to discs pressed by EMI factories. Noted Beatles expert Bruce Spizer has said that it was unlikely that EMI would have contracted out such a small press run of these export issues and that the were probably pressed and packaged in a foreign country with stampers, labels and covers supplied by EMI. This explains why it is was housed in the made in Britain Garrod Lofthouse sleeves with the CPCS 106 record number, not the P-CPCS 106 number that is on the label. It might be safe to say that this particular export issue variation is the rarest and most limited produced and therefore hardest to find of all the EMI export releases and possibly of all EMI releases I have tried to grade it very conservatively and included pictures of all visible wear so please bid with confidence Don t miss your chance to add a true Beatles vinyl rarity to your collection. This copy is in great sounding condition and it would be a fantastic addition to any serious Beatles collection. Good luck

Parlophone Records P-CPCS 106 1970 UK stereo export issue LP

GRADING:

COVER: Strong VG with light wear in places and minor age wear. All four corners some wear and dings and there is some creasing in the lamination in places. The top right corner of front cover has a circle of what looks like sticker residue which could be from a price tag that was attached to the cover at time of sale. There is a black mark that runs along the top of front cover that could have been from storage or from the back cover of another copy of the same album that occurred during shipping. I m not sure if there was tape adhered at one time to the top, bottom and opening edge as it looks as though the laminate is removed from those portions or perhaps that was how the laminate was put on originally. Bottom middle of back cover has a small tear and laminate creasing that is documented in one of the photos. All seams are intact with no splits or tears. Still very clean with no writing or stickers.

RECORD: Visual: Strong VG with light sleeve scuffing and minor handling wear. There is a more noticeable looking light scratch that runs across the track Rain , but it is not deep and does not affect play. Still looks great with lots of gloss and shine Play grade: Strong VG to VG with occasional light background noise mostly only in the dead wax between tracks. Still plays and sounds great with no noise or sound issues during the songs. Comes with its original white EMI company sleeve.

LABELS: VG with very light wear and light spindle marks. No writing or stickers.

Overall, this is a fantastic sounding and investment quality copy of this very hard to find Beatles export release that needs a loving home in your LP collection
