Item Description

On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Deep Purplecalled "Shades Of Deep Purple" and is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK MONO 1st Pressing on the 1st Press Yellow & Black Parlophonelabel!!!! THISLP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! THIS WAS DEEP PURPLE'S FIRST & RAREST LP EVER- AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!! JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!! BACK IN 1968 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED - IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS, AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED!!!! AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE TODAY!!!! BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL IS THAT IT IS 1ST PRESSED IN MEGA RARE MONO!!!! AND THISIS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ON THIS LP!!!! WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED IN THE UK BACK IN 1968, NEARLY EVERY 1ST PRESSING WAS MADE IN COMMON STEREO - WITH VIRTUALLY NONE IN MEGA RARE MONO AT ALL!!!! MOST SHOPS HAD LONG SINCE STOPPED STOCKING MONOs BY THIS POINT - AND THEY WERE ONLY AVAILABLE BY 'SPECIAL ORDER' ONLY!!!!AS A RESULT, FINDING A 1ST PRESSING OF THIS INCREDIBLE LP IN MEGA RARE MONO IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE - AS BARELY ANY WERE EVER MADE!!!!

NOT ONLY THAT, BUT THIS LP IS STILL VERY SOLID & PRESENTABLE AND PLAYS FINE!!!! AND THE RECORD IS STILL VERY BRIGHT & SHINY, THE COVER HAS NO MAJOR DEFECTS AT ALL - AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO JUMPS AND NO STICKS AT ALL!!!! JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!! THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1968 UKMONO 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS YELLOW & BLACK PARLOPHONELABEL, 1ST PRESS 1/1 MONO MATRIX ENDINGS, 1ST PRESS 'PATENTS APPLIED FOR' ADVERTISING INNER SLEEVE, AND 1ST PRESS 'GARROD & LOFTHOUSE' FLIPBACK LAMINATED 'PATENTS PENDING'MONO COVER!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE (ESPECIALLY IN MEGA RARE MONO!) - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!! This is the ORIGINAL UK1st Pressing from 1968 and is SERIOUSLY rare in EVERY respect!!!! The Cat. No isPMC 7055 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Yellow & BlackParlophone label (see picture) and is a much MUCH rarer UK MONO 1st Pressing!!!!All the tracks are Pure quality Deep Purple at their best!!!! Any fan of Deep Purple, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!
The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a VERY few light spindle marks!!!! IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HASN'T BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!! However - this record is simple to describe. It is what is commonly termed in the record collecting world as 'a decent player'. I.e. it plays through fine - with NO jumps, and NO sticks - but has a few visual lines / marks on either side!!!! I suspect this is probably caused by the record being left out of its cover at some point in the past. However almost ALL of these visual details are LIGHT and do NOT affect play in the slightest!!!! And the sound quality itself is in superb MONO - and has NO distortion AT ALL!!!! However, although the record is still VERY bright and shiny, there are a few hairlines, a few small surface marks, 2 or 3 careless scufflines, and a few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! That said (as mentioned before) the record still plays through FINE - with NO skips, only a few light clicks (though mostly NONE!), NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!! There is some expected audible background sound on the run on grooves & gaps - though this is lost WAY behind ALL but the VERY quietest parts of the music ONLY (and as 99% of this LP is very VERY loud indeed, this means there are barely ANY quiet parts AT ALL!)!!!! The actual sound quality itself is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!! So if you want a VERY decent & presentable (and still bright & shiny!) example to play - and can live with some lines/marks on either side, then this is definitely worth considering!!!! And of course, its rarity factor can NOT be understated - especially in MONO!!!! That said - I will only MEGA STRICTLY give this record the lowest possible grading of a record that does not jump - Fair+ (PROPERLY graded!) if not better!!!! So definitely still a VERY presentable copy - which still plays through FINE!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I useSTRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! SO ALTHOUGH THIS RECORD ISNT 100% PERFECT - IT IS A VERY SOLID, PLAYABLE, PRESENTABLE EXAMPLE, AND ALSO OF THE UTMOST RARITY!!!!AND SO BEFORE YOU THINK OF PASSING ON THIS LP - JUST ASK YOUSELF, WHEN DID YOU LAST SEE ONE OF THESE IN MEGA RARE MONO, AND WHEN ARE YOU EVER LIKELY TO SEE ANOTHER ONE AGAIN????The record also comes in its ORIGINAL1st Press EMI Advertising 'Patents Applied For' inner sleeve which is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! The ORIGINAL 1st Press'Garrod & Lofthouse' Flipback Laminated 'Patents Pending' MONO Cover isin GREAT condition - with NO major defects AT ALL!!!! he cover has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour!), NO rips, NO tears, some creasing (these are mainly confined to the VERY edges ONLY - and the cover is still VERY flat looking!), NO splits, only some VERY minor evidence of 'tipping in' to the corners, shiny laminate, NO annotations, and NO writing!!!!The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL (with some possible evidence of trimming here - though this is so marginal, it is by no means certain)!!!! Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in GREAT condition with NO grubbyness, barely ANY rubbing AT ALL, NO sticker tears, NO sticker marks, and NO writing!!!! The cover must MEGA STRICTLY gradeVery Good(Minus) (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed!) if not Very Good - though I strongly suspect most would grade higher, as it is certainly a very VERY decent cover indeed with NO major defects AT ALL (NO rips, NO tears, NO splits, NO writing, etc!)!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!
HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!! MY POSTAGE UNDERCHARGE GUARANTEE TO ALL BUYERS (I always undercharge on postage!):- Due to UK Royal Mail's obscene price increases this year - I have had no choice but to increase postage charges a little. Until this year - I had kept them exactly the same since I joined ebay back in 2002. However this years price increases have been so obscene, that I have had no choice but to increase my postage charges for the first time ever. However PLEASE NOTE - my absolute 100% guarantee to you as a buyer - is that I will ALWAYS undercharge postage on everything I send out. Even after the increases, I am still charging you the buyer LESS than I am being charged myself. On each package I send out - the price is clearly stated on the front of the package (please check it when you recieve it!). I also do NOT charge for packaging costs - ONLY for postal costs! And should you find that I have overcharged you postage in ANY way - I will refund DOUBLE the difference. THAT IS MY 100% POSTAL GUARANTEE FOR EACH AND EVERY BUYER! No buyer EVER deserves to be overcharged on postage - and on my listings, I'll make sure they are ALWAYS undercharged. Any questions - please ask!
