This is an original Stereo USA Verve Records copy of The Velvet
Underground’s first LP released in 1967 entitled “The Velvet Underground and
Nico” with the banana cover designed by Andy Warhol. The front cover has 100% of the banana still attached, but you can tell the banana has been partially peeled at the top and then replaced because there is the usual tear in the stem of the banana and a crease towards the top tip of the banana. The bottom part of the banana appears unpeeled. The back cover has the airbrushed cover, NOT the censored upside down
Eric Emerson “torso” photo that was later covered with a sticker and then airbrushed out like on this airbrushed copy. TOP Archive Near Mint / better Vinyl. Matrix [Side One] reads "VG-5008 Side 1 MGS-558" and the matrix [Side Two] reads "VG-5008 Side 2 MGS-559 REV" First pressing vinyl, but censored back airbrushed cover.
see my detailed description below and PLEASE
CHECK my Feedback which will show you my grading, Cover/Vinyl, of other LPs I
have recently sold and what the lucky people who bought them think of them and
Condition: STRONG Excellent Minus (EX-) cover with partially peeled and reattached banana in nice shape, and airbrushed back cover (no upside down Eric Emerson photo). 100% of the banana is there although there is a crease/tear near the top and close by . . . indicating that the top part of the banana was peeled but then pressed back on the cover as evidenced by the tear in the neck and crease in the top tip part of the banana. Still VERY VERY NICE!!! Please see my photos!
I did not take them for fun and frolic.
Near Mint (NM) better vinyl. Impossible to upgrade and I rarely grade records Near Mint (NM) as you can tell if you look at my feedback where you can see the grade of the record I sold (cover/vinyl) that people left me feedback about.
Labels. Near Mint (NM) better labels. Appears unplayed. Please see photos
of both labels.
Inserts: Comes with original Verve Records
Factory innersleeve that I found with this LP when I acquired it, but No
Worries! ThisLP also comes KL Audio Ultrasonic cleaned in a new
rice-paper style sleeve.
Packaging. I place the
vinyl in a new sleeve after cleaning it on my KL Audio Ultrasonic Cleaning
Machine, and place the cover and the separately packed vinyl in at least one if
not two plastic innersleeves that help protect against moisture damage during
this cool record transition to your record collection. I use sturdy
cardboard containers with real corners and pack with at least two insert
stiffeners, and I place stickers on the front and back of the package
indicating “Do Not Bend” and/or “Fragile” or something like that to help
facilitate a safe passage.
PayPal only. I combine shipping!!! Two ship for the same cost as one LP. I ship promptly worldwide; sometimes the automatic eBay
invoice does not have accurate shipping if you buy more than one LP, so ignore
the automatic invoice and email me and ask for an invoice. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS: Please add sales
Refunds. I offer full a full refund including shipping
both ways if for whatever reason you are not happy with your purchase.
