On offer is one of the rarest UK made Beatles LP. The Parlophone export issue of Hey Jude stands as one of the holy grail pressings for Beatles collectors. This particular copy stands out strong in comparison to the very few copies that has turned up during the recent years. I will try to provide an extremely critical description of the conditions below, but please use the photos as a reference as well. I have taken the photos under astrongkitchen lamp to provide the best and detailed information of the condition.
The sleeve(made by Garrod & Lofthouse)has a tight solid lamination, great clean looking front with a barely visible ring wear. The sleeve has a number of small creases, mainly on the back side and spine. Also the top and bottom seams shows some sign of wear and a tiny tear on the opening is evident. Generally a strong solid great looking sleeve, giving it VERY GOOD PLUS grade.
The record and labels looks great and clean. The vinyl shows sleeve marks and a couple of surface marks, but no deep nasty scratches that would cause pops and clicks. The music sounds strong, dynamic and no hissing, distortionor any clicks and pops. I play-graded the record on my turntables as loud as I dared to really hear all the issues. All I can hear is some static noise in the run-in groove and between the tracks, which to my experience can with good chance be removed or reduced further with a decent cleaning.
The record is graded according to UK Record Collecting Standards, meaning the grades I use are M-, EX, VG+, VG and so forth. The record is sent securely, insured if applicable and with no additional costs.
