The opening track is an amazing duet between Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, and the high quality of this version really comes through! I also own the regular thin vinyl 33rpm version as well and it is a great performance but doesn't really pull you in like this high quality version does. This version is pricey but sounds amazing!!!

I don't know what it is about MoFi releases, but the sound makes CD's sound like mp3's. This particular release from Dylan has a certain magic you cannot quite put into words. You just have to add it to your collection. This was perhaps a time when Bob Dylan's career had no real direction. He wasn't a particularly popular artist at this juncture in his career, except in England. After all, his fans were older and listening to Jimmy Hendrix and the Doors. He'd already laid the foundation for those artists and in true Dylan style he needed to be himself no matter what Columbia records executives had to say about it. He was obviously trying to shake his folk singer-songwriter label and get back to true Americana to shake things up for his own sanity's sake. Johnny Cash helps him out on this record, which is another reason to own it. Read full review
