Limited six 180gm colored vinyl LP box set. The Elektra Years 1978-1987 includes six studio albums, each one presented in a replica sleeve with original artwork. Ric Ocasek oversaw digital remastering for the set, while drummer David Robinson - who helped create The Cars iconic album covers through the years - served as art director. Includes all six of their original studio albums for Elektra Records: The Cars, Candy O, Panorama, Shake It Up, Heartbeat City and Door To Door. Good way to get all the LPs in one shot
I've been a fan since the first LP came out in 1978. In the area I grew up in "western Pennsylvania" this was like a greatest hits LP, meaning, they played most of the LP on the radio. The 2nd LP "Candy-O" was almost as big. There are really only 2 complaints I have with this set and they are : 1. The single "Tonight She Comes" is not on here - was on the greatest hits LP back in 1985. 2. The colors they chose. Why is there 3 red records? Trivial I guess. But if you are a "Cars Fan" you will not be disappointed. I am pretty critical when it comes to sound quality and this is decent quality.I've been a fan since the first LP came out in 1978.
