Incredible CD, a true songwriter, artist, love it!

I saw a story on PBS about RODRIGUEZ and how he was an icon in South Africa years ago yet no one knew him in the U.S. and how recently a small group of producers worked to get recognition for him. He is a humble, hard-working and unchanged good man whose success may have been noticed late in life but his genius was always there. They did a great job and I am happy they did because that's how I heard this FANTASTIC music. LOVE THIS CD, everyone should have a copy.

  • So glad to have found this jewel via the Sugar Man documentary!

It is amazing that this recording was overlooked by the US, while reaching the very pinnacle of success in South Africa. On the other hand, it's possible that it was too far ahead of it's time, in view of the fact that it still sounds great today. It is likewise amazing that this artist was literally a music hero there, and did not find out about it for so many years! Searching for Sugar Man is a touching film that brought the amazing story to me... Having listened to "Cold Fact" repeatedly, it's now a favorite in my music collection. Thank you Sixto Rodriguez, for this classic, timeless album! You are, truely, an American treasure!

  • Discover the music, and the story of Sixto Rodriguez.

This album is a wonderful piece of work. I recommend not only the album for the work of art it is, but Highly recommend learning the story of The Artist. A bitter sweet story of great art, and artist, all but forgotten, and then 40 years later, like a very fine fermented spirit that becomes available to us all. I highly recommend the music, and the story that goes with it, and I am waiting for the next one to come out, a feeling I have not had about an artist in a long time. It is a True 2 for 1, and then some.

  • Finding Sugar Man the eBay Way

Sixto Rodriguez must have lived within a parallel universe in the 60s' and 70s'. He was a man, a musician, and a song writer of the time; however, somehow obscured from our eyes and ears. He was as much a story teller, satirist, and teller of sociopolitical meanderings as was Dylan, Rambl'n Jack Elliot, or Woody Guthrie, and I say that with sincere reverence for all three. I consider myself a student of the music of the 60's, and I know zip of Rodriguez, nor does most of America. I was alerted to his presence by a documentary entitled, "Looking for Sugar Man". I very liked the music that, as the story states, took over the entire of the South African youth and intellectual culture in the late 60s' and early 70s'. The song the became the anthem for the overthrow of apartheid was "Cold ...

  • Ahead of its Time

I was listening to the Rodriguez CD in my car on a long country drive. I loved how down to earth the lyrics were and how the songs were sung from the heart. It’s definitely also ahead of its time with what’s going on in our word today. Rodriguez has an awesome voice. I would love to hear that he would be performing in Raleigh, NC when we can go back to attending concerts.
