The bland generic sunset photo on the cover of this custom LP doesn t look too promising. Even a glimpse of the song titles is likely to generate a few hrumphs: He s Everything To Me , He Touched Me , Just A Closer Walk With Thee . Just what I need another Ralph Carmichael project. But noooo, it ain t like that at all folks. This is classy electric basement folk/folk-rock, with guitars casually bobbing along in a Grateful Dead kind of swing, sorta like that Hallelujah Joy Band album only better, with each song getting an irresistible laid-back unpretentious guitar solo. Never loud, but has some cool subtle psychy guitar effects here and there. Simple home-made vibe, but with decent sound quality. Is that a kid singing lead on He Touched Me ? Other covers include Come To The Waters and 1 Wish We d All Been Ready . Also ve original compositions, including the opening Something New Theme , complete with Wilson McKinley bongo sound.
