Elly Ney 1882-1968 was a German pianist of the romantic repertoire who specialized in Ludwig van Beethoven. She began a music education at the Cologne Conservatory and won the Mendelssohn Scholarship in 1901 to study in Vienna with Theodor Leschetizky and Emil Von Sauer. Ney had a successful concert career as a virtuoso pianist. Elly was married to the violinist Willem Van Hoogstraten from 1911 to 1927.
Ludwig Hoelscher
German Cellist born 1907 in Solingen and died 1996 in Tutzing.
He studied in Cologne, Munich, Leipzig and Berlin, by Hugo Becker, Julius Klengel and Wilhelm Lamping.
1930 together with Ibolyka Zilzer he gets the Mendelsohn Prize .
1936 was the first time he played with the Berliner Philharmoniker and Wilhelm Furtw ngler, resulting in a Lifetime Friendship with him.
