Item Description
Hi, and welcome to psych out auctions I ve collected 50 s, 60 s, and early 70 s records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm n Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between for all my life Obviously, 90 of the LP s I ve ever gotten hold of are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock n roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10 ? Reluctantly, I ve decided to offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there I m currently trying to set up a record label so unfortunately personal sacrifices have to be made when it comes to my collection, resulting in GREAT benefits for all you shrewd bidders and serious connosieurs of TRUE solid gold music history out there Make no mistake, I ll try my best to consistently offer some of the VERY BEST records available on ebay, many which have taken me YEARS to find I aim to put a weekly batch up time permitting every Wednesday, all timed to end 10 days later on Saturday night.
I ll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZING, MOST IMPORTANT, VERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I ve got I won t insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity.
I m sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it s a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard none of this digitally remastered ,weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would ve been geniuses themselves? There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that s just a tiny example .
I try to be one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music I strictly grade all LP s I list, visually and sonically using the UK RRPG standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and I ll always do my very best not to let you down.
Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i ll be listing some gems that you just WON T want to miss out on I think that s everything, so let the auction commence Title : Led Zeppelin - Led Zep 1 Label year : Original Atlantic 588 171 LP , UK Stereo 1969 OUTRAGEOUSLY RARE DAY OF RELEASE Turquoise 1st Press Matrix s : Side A : 588171 A//1 1 , Side B : 588 171 B//1 1 EARLIEST EVER UNCORRECTED THIS IS IT THE EARLIEST EVER PRESSING OF THEIR OUTSTANDING DEBUT IN TRULY FANTASTIC CONDITION A PHENOMENALLY RARE TRUE DAY OF RELEASE EXAMPLE WITH THE OUTRAGEOUSLY RARE WITHDRAWN TURQUOISE SLEEVE, SUPERHYPE CREDITS, UNCORRECTED MATRIXES, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL, THE ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUSLY RARE SIDE ONE 1, 3, 4, 3 JEWEL CREDIT LABEL ERROR ONLY THE VERY FIRST 200 COPIES WERE EVER PRESSED LIKE THIS WITH THE JEWEL CREDIT ERROR BEFORE BEING IMMEDIATELY CORRECTED TO 1, 2, 4 SUPERHYPE AND 3 JEWEL SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS AND IF THAT WASN T ENOUGH, THIS ALSO HAS MAGNIFICENT EX AUDIO UNBELIEVABLE ONE OF THE GREATEST DEBUT LP S EVER Most won t need me to tell you how UNBELIEVABLY RARE a true Turquoise 1st Press of this LP truly is, but for those who need filling in - Just as this monumental debut was first going to press in 1969, a last minute decision was made by the band and manager Peter Grant and what Grant says goes that the greeny blue text on the front just wasn t the right look for this mean rock n roll band, immediately changing it to a much more violent and announcing orange text which would leap off the sleeve with more intent and vigour As a result, it s said that only a small shipment of no more than 2000 with the Turquoise sleeves EVER left the plant and only 200 MAX with the earliest possible side A label misprint error - track 2 uncredited with track 3 credited to both Superhype AND Jewel resulting straight away in EASILY the most valuable and rarest Led Zep LP to EVER be commercially released These barely EVER turn up, with the tiny amount remaining being immediately snapped up by the rabid Led Zep faithful dotted across the globe, so it s always a MONUMENTAL moment when one of these TRUE DAY OF RELEASE EARLIEST EVER examples come up for sale, especially in such an OUTSTANDING condition DON T MISS OUT - you will NEVER get the chance again, bid now Musicians : Robert Plant - Vocals, Jimmy Page - Guitar, John Paul Jones - Bass, and John Bonham - Drums.About : Ultra Rare Original 1969 UK 1st Press This MASSIVELY RARE LP initially sold barely anything LP s were also really expensive to most people back then and therefore had a very small run, and is INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND, especially in this condition AN absolute classic LP from this incredible band An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be in EVERY serious 60 s / 70 s record collection Don t miss out on this MEGA RARE LP If you like good music, bid now The LP :Labels :Classic UK red plum Superhype 1, 3, 4, 3 error Atlantic 1st Press labels Both sides are OUTSTANDING with NO real signs of age, NO graffiti, and NO writing OR tears whatsoever Just has a small amount of ultra light spindle marks which suggests that this has barely had much play at all FANTASTIC for a 46 year old record Both must grade overall at least as Excellent Record : Visual -Spectacular Original 1970 UK 1st Press Vinyl Nice bright, clean and shiny as if it was just pressed Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks INCREDIBLE with NO nasty scratches, groovewear, or nasty deep scuffs whatsoever The only blemishes off perfection are just one or two BARELY VISIBLE totally non-sounding cosmetic scuffs, a few of the lightest, wispy sleeve traces/cleaning lines only visible in strong angled light and only one or two ULTRA light non sounding hairlines mostly from where it has sat or been removed from it s cover over the years Of course, none of these ULTRA light blemishes affect play AT ALL PHENOMENAL for a record of this age and rarity You ll be amazed by how generally clean and unworn it is Must grade overall at least as Very Good graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL Customer satisfaction is of 100 importance to me Record : Audio - Thankfully, it plays AMAZINGLY with fantastic stereo separation and clarity It really sounds incredible with NO hisses, hops, distortion, skips OR sticks Only like pretty much ALL records has the very RAREST quiet isolated tick here and there, and possibly just the MEREST TOUCH of low level static in the rarest few and far between places such as on the run in grooves and between some tracks, but that s truly about it The vast, vast, majority of the music is TRULY crystal clear - It really does play with a CD-like near 100 black silence, but with that bass, depth, clarity and warmth you can only get from original UK vinyl EVEN the vast majority of the quiet sections Absolutely ESSENTIAL ASTONISHING for a record of this age and rarity Must grade overall audibly at least as Excellent graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL Customer satisfaction is of 100 importance to me Sleeve : Original 1969 1st Press fully laminated MacNeill TURQUOISE sleeve complete with inner IMPOSSIBLE to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP This one is NOT, and looks AWESOME, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves NO splits, NO graffiti, NO seam wear, NO bad marks AT ALL, and still ultra strong and solid after all these years Only has just a few mild signs of ageing such as just a small amount of light creasing and the merest hint of a record imprint, a light touch of laminate lifting along parts of the spine INCREDIBLY common with fully laminated sleeves , a slight touch of denting to the four corners which virtually ALL vintage sleeves have, and POSSIBLY just to be sure one or two other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all And that s truly about it I tend to bring it down by listing the most minor negatives I can find, but this truly is a FANTASTIC sleeve, and a TRUE rarity to find one as incredible as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one It remains ultra strong, solid, undulled, unsplit and unspoilt, and even the spine remains ultra strong, solid, unsplit, and 100 readable Must grade overall at least as Very Good graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL Customer satisfaction is of 100 importance to me Summary : An OUTSTANDING earliest ever 1 3 4 3 Uncorrected Superhype example of this IMPOSSIBLY RARE classic Turquoise original 1969 DAY OF RELEASE EARLIEST EVER UK 1st Press LP Hard to find in ANY condition, but SERIOUSLY RARE TO FIND ONE AS UTTERLY FANTASTIC AS THIS YOU MAY NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN, so don t miss out on this scarce opportunity to own a true piece of 60 s/70 s music history Bid now Please take a look at all my other auctions for many other ultra rare classic LPs, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
Thanks again for looking, it s truly appreciated Cheers I ve realized that most countries have their own unique grading system.
I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system occasionally with a or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i m having real trouble deciding , so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean.
As a general rule, a mint record will be 100 perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it.
