Featured on the white strip only early press STUNNING NEAR MINT AUDIO QUALITY Another from my personal collection, Being an avid collector of Led Zeppelin UK pressings I have accumilated many many copies of this album and many variations on both labels and audio mixes This album has been carefully stored in a case, with the sleeve and cover seperated from the vinyl.
This is how I have always stored my records.
I have many many copies of all of the Zeppelin UK albums Just hear the playback in the player below.
Out of all of the copies that I have heard this copy is probably up there as one of the best that I have ever heard So vibrant rich heavy and clear sound with separation to die for, these earliest UK pressings can not be surpassed by any other format on the planet in my opinion.
Almost cd quality as I heard it This nearly shook my house down I had it so loud The vinyl is in awesome condition and has obviously only ever been played a minimal amount of times ever, Near mint awesome top audio on all frequencies Remember this is an original 40 years old, very very rare to find like this The original 1st issue,1st press cover has some minor light ware only to mention but there is no creases worth to mention.
This is complete with the original 1st issue flip back lyric records sleeve also without edge splits Listen to the actual complete recording of this vinyl in the player below Played at very loud volume on my system, this nearly shook the house down Very near as perfect audio through out Very important note For all those audiophiles out there it is so common on these early 70s pressings to experience light static crackle in the form of light interferance that is normally heard during quiet tracks on these vinyls, that are although tollerable in most cases it is still evident.
This copy is absolutely awesome throughout Having heard many many variations of this pressing and some sound extremely bland and incipede this is awesome rich and very very vibrant with a real bass and raunchy feel that can only be heard on the earliest UK pressings in my opinion I would class myself as highly critical, Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this caliber and you will see that I normally get it right The untitled fourth album of English rock band Led Zeppelin was released on November 8, 1971.
It has no official title mentioned on the cover and is commonly referred to as Led Zeppelin IV, in the style of the band s previous three albums.
Atlantic Records catalogues have used the names Four Symbols and The Fourth Album, and it is also variously referred to as Untitled, Runes, Sticks, Man with Sticks, Four and ZoSo after the appearance of the first character or symbol printed on the LP label .
Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page frequently refers to the album in interviews as Led Zeppelin IV, while singer Robert Plant thinks of it as the fourth album, that s it.
It is one of the best-selling albums in history, with over 23 million units sold in the United States alone estimates for worldwide figures usually top 37 million units After the lukewarm, if not confused and sometimes dismissive, critical reaction Led Zeppelin III had received in the autumn of 1970, Jimmy Page decided that the next Led Zeppelin album would not have a title, but would instead feature four hand-drawn symbols on the inner sleeve and record label, each one chosen by the band member it represents.
We decided that on the fourth album, we would deliberately play down the group name, and there wouldn t be any information whatsoever on the outer jacket, Page explained.
Names, titles and things like that do not mean a thing.
Owing to the lack of an official title, Atlantic Records initially distributed graphics of the symbols in many sizes to the press for inclusion in charts and articles.
The album was one of the first to be produced without conventional identification, and this communicated an anti-commercial stance that was controversial at the time especially among certain executives at Atlantic .
Led Zeppelin IV remains a perennial favorite on classic rock radio and features Stairway to Heaven , one of the most famous and popular rock songs ever recorded.
Varied versions of the artwork within the album exist.
Some versions depict a longhaired and bearded supplicant climbing at the base of the mountain, while some others do not show the six pointed star within the hermit s lantern.
If the inside cover of the album is held vertically against a mirror, a man s face can be seen hidden in the rocks below the hermit.
Speculation exists that the face is actually that of a black dog.
The typeface for the lyrics to Stairway to Heaven , printed on the inside sleeve of the album, was Page s contribution.
He found it in an old arts and crafts magazine called The Studio which dated from the late 19th century.
He thought the lettering was interesting and arranged for someone to create a whole alphabet Side one 1.

Side 2.
2431012 B 4 PORKY HAND ETCHED ON THE RUN OFF GROOVES ONLY 1ST PRESS The vinyl this is the heavier and thicker original type of vinyl and therefor much more robust later press were much more flimsier the vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable, and is free of any warping On initial inspection the vinyl looks superb and I can hardly see a blemish only in strong light could possibly any, or very few light whispy surface sleeve removal marks/tiny scuffs possibly be seen on the playing surface if scrutinized at the first track side two,you have to have your glasses on to spot these but more importantly these are non-audio sounding at least nothing that caused any loud clicks or pops but I heard all my systems at all In fact I never heard any clicks or pops throughout, unbelievably rare to find that this The audio was superb almost like cd quality as I heard it on my systems crystal clear and vibrant with no signs of any groove ware or that this has been overplayed at all so rare for a Led zep vinyl original that is 40 years old Absolutely top Near as Mint audio in my opinion There was nothing that detracted from this awesome top audio in my opinion Points to note this album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 35 years from my personal experience this vinyl would benefit from a constant clean before each play ,, as biuld up of dirt and dust in the grooves over a period of laying dormant causes static crackle constant cleaning drasticly reduces this and greatly improves the audio quality all tracks play awesome with no loud clicks pops or any major interfearance.
Absolutely top near mint audio on all frequencies please note i always add this disclamer i have described as usual this vinyl giving my honest opinion on the audio quality please allow for the odd static tick or crackle not consistent throughout the audio this is a genuine original 40- year old vinyl that would have been originally played on a 40 year old system in my personal opinion this played through with no clicks pops and certainly no skips or jumps and is graded at the very top on all frequencies The labels These are the original atlantic plum orange labels On side two features the misspelling of the track Misty Mountain hop is misspelled Misty Mountain Top minimal spidering , can be seen only angled to the light in my opinion this has obviously been played a minimal amount of times, certainly not overplayed in my opinion no wear that I can see around the spindle hole it is perfectly round.
Made In Great Britain is featured uk pressing please note under license is featured on the white strip only earliest labels later issues feature this obove the white strip The cover This is the original heavy duty first uk pressing gatefold cover unlaminated mat finish importantly there is no splits or tares on this cover.
Please Note this is unlaminated inside and out very very hard to keep in good condition Any rubbing ware at the edges top and bottom and spine edge corners are barely noticeable unless looked for in my opinion.
This is strong and straight.
Very slight tinting at the spine with age only common on earliest 1st issues There is a slight vinyl impression noticed at the rear if looked for.
Graded at least better than excellent in my opinion The record sleeve This is the original textured flip back sleeve only first press later press do not have flipback Another impossible thing to find no splits or tares at the edges see photos this is now stored separately from the vinyl the original 40 years old try to find better HOW I SEND MY RECORDS THIS ALBUM WILL BE SENT IN A LARGE BOX WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS THE ALBUM IS ALWAYS PUT IS A POLY SLEEVE AND ENCASED IN THE BOX WITH PLENTY OF BUBBLEWRAP FOR ADDED PROTECTION SEE PHOTOS As always I have tried to give my honest personal opinion when describing items listed Although it is my honest opinion I always urge others to do their own personal research on any items that they are interested in purchasing, before, they commit to bidding I have Highlighted all aspects as clearly as possible I have taken time to play this vinyl track for track to give a clear and accurate description of the audio quality as i hear it.
