DEEP PURPLE - BOOK OF TALIESYN UNBOXED HARVEST LABEL WITH 4 LINES OF TEXT 1968 RARE FIRST UK PRESSING WITH ERNEST J DAY OUTER LAMINATED GATEFOLD SLEEVE, IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND PLAYS WITH MOSTLY EXCELLENT AUDIO.
SHVL 751 STEREO 1G 1P1G 1M Released in 1968 on the HARVEST label, I am offering today this hard to find original first UK pressing of this second studio album from DEEP PURPLE which is titled THE BOOK OF TALIESYN .
The album is seldomly offered as as a true first pressing.
This first issue has obviously NO EMI BOX and most importantly has the following 4 lines of text at the top left side of the label.SOLD IN THE U.K.SUBJECT TO RESALEPRICE CONDITIONS,SEE PRICE LISTS So hard to find these days.
The album contains some great tracks including the Neil Diamond classic KENTUCKY WOMAN as well as The Beatles WE CAN WORK IT OUT and WRING THAT NECKI have just played this album through and can state that it mostly plays with excellent audio but there is a small scratch at the start of RIVER DEEP, MOUNTAIN HIGH which causes a click for the first minute or so, otherwise it is a very enjoyable listen.
The album comes with its original ERNEST J Day outer laminated gatefold sleeve which was designed by keyboard player JOHN VERNON LORD.
This is in clean very good condition, it has no stickers, splits or unwanted writing etc but shows light wear and has a corner crease.
The album comes complete with its original Patent Applied For generic white inner sleeve which is in reasonably clean condition with no splits or unwanted writing etc but shows light staining.
SO HARD TO FIND AS A VERY FIRST ISSUE AND AN ESSENTIAL ALBUM FOR ANY DEEP PURPLE COLLECTOR.
THIS ALBUM WAS PLAY TESTED ON A LINN AXIS THROUGH A MUSIC FIDELITY AMP.
I try to be accurate in my grading as I know what its like to buy miss graded items but won t insult you by writing song lyrics etc.
