A-Side: XEX 689 - 1 A-Side Mother/Stamper code: 1 / G B-Side: XEX 690 - 1 B-Side Mother/Stamper code: 1 / G This is the 1st Mono Pressing of the mega rare and sought after, Shades of Deep Purple LP on Parlophone with Yellow and Black labels.
A hard record to find at the best of times and not only that, the 1 G Mother/Stamper codes show the earliest possible pressing of this vinyl making it super-duper rare.
For those not aware go google it , the mother/stamper codes are a way of determining how early the record was pressed in the first pressing as the total amount of records could have been pressed of a periods of months if not longer.
1 G shows the earliest possible batch of the first pressing, can t get better than that This record/band are iconic through and through.
A real rarity and piece of musical history all lay within this recording.
Pressed in 1968 making it 45 years old this year and this is the 1ST UK PRESSING with the EARLIEST MOTHER/STAMPER CODES POSSIBLE.
GRADING Visual Grading Side 1: VG / VG Upon first glance the record looks clean with little signs of use.
While reflecting the record in the light there are a few small or faint surface scratches visible but nothing deep, nor do they affect play.
The vinyl has a nice shine and sits perfectly flat on my turntable with no warps or rolling lifts.
SIDE 2: VGThis side is also clean and shows slightly more use than side one.
While reflecting the record in the light there a few small, faint surface scratches visible but nothing deep or anything that affects play and still aesthetically pleasing.
Still has a nice shine and nothing visibly off putting.
VINYL PLAY GRADE: I have sat and listened to this album in full to make sure your listening experience is not affected.
Any issues will be clearly noted below.
The record was also professionally cleaned before play grading and delivery to the winning bidder.
Side 1: VG The first song starts of very quietly and builds with volume and intensity before it explodes with sounds from every direction.
Throughout this build up there is slight static here and there and the odd little click.
No deep scratches or clicks in that sense but its more natural or vintage qualities than damage.
Doesn t distract form the listen experience.
The whole of this side plays through without incident or issue.
Slight static between tracks but not loud and very natural.
No loud pops, jumps, loops, skips or nothing like that.
You can put the needle on and sit back without fret of any disturbances.
Side 2: VG Again no jumps, skips, loops or audio anomalies.
This side plays through without incident or issue.
Slight moments of static between tracks when no music is playing and the odd little click but all natural and nothing from deep scratches or damage to the record.
Both sides play through superbly without an issue.
I have tried to be as descriptive as possible and graded conservatively.
I have tried to point out whats not excellent rather than focus on what is as that can be misleading.
I found that there are no audible issues with this vinyl and it played through superbly.
LABELS: EXBoth labels are clean, neither have writing or pen marks, rips or stains.
Lovely bright yellow and smooth black.
There are a few spindle marks but nothing nasty.
EX condition SLEEVE: VGThe laminated front cover is free from writing, pen marks, stains or rips.
There are a few creases in the cover/laminate but nothing nasty or anything that ruins the picture, slight storage wear on edges and corners.
Slight wear along the opening of the sleeve from removal of the record.
Nothing bad but a few nicks in the cover edges here and there.
Small split on bottom edge of sleeve, about an inch.
The cardboard back is in VG condition with no unstuck seams or dried glue.
No pen marks, writing, rips or water damage.
Does have a few mild and faint stains, very small and not really noticeable.
A little bit of age toning here and there but for me it just adds flavour to this record Great linear notes on the back as well.
