Label Conditions: Both clean, fresh and attractive with spindle marks light , very fine and faint.

Warps: Assume all records I offer have no warping of any significance and all tracking is easy and effortless and should play on all turntables and even budget decks.

Brief Artist Album Info: Arguably Deep Purple s finest and most treasured album, their fourth and the one that really won them mass appeal after a patchy start with the band performing cover versions and really going nowhere very fast in commercial terms.
A new vocalist was introduced Ian Gillan and now performing their own material, a new supergroup was born.
An album of hard-edged riffs and vocals of the highest calibre few singers could even live with the power behind him but this new formula worked perfectly.
In Rock quickly became one of the heavy rock classics of all-time and this contains several of the band s finest anthems including the awesome Child in Time and Speed King .
My favourite song here however is the lesser mentioned final song, Hard Lovin Man that simply drives and flows from the speakers with channel-to-channel pyrotechnics with speed a hugely impressive track.
Special mention here to for Lord s superb keyboards, keyboard players within heavy bands often do not get the praise they should this man was an integral member and helped give Deep Purple their special sound.
This album sold well, and peaking at 4 in the UK but only a poorly 143 in the US it has to be one of the very best issued on this famous progressive label.
A very fine all-round example lovely clean shiny cover and a record that plays well, and one of the earliest examples I have ever seen.
Cover Grade and Format: EXCELLENT : a gatefold format, laminated front and back, the inside matt finished and smooth.
Printed and made in England by Garrod Lofthouse Ltd.
Included is the Harvest promotional inner sleeve.
Lamination Front Back: The laminate retains a superb shine, freshness and clarity with hardly even a trace of dulling even viewed under light.
No lifting either.
Most of any creasing on the spine edge, both side look really impressive and hardly aged.
Cover Inside: Barely any real wear, only light handling traces on the matt black areas that can rarely be avoided.
Top Bottom Edges: Minimal edge wear and all straight, the front edge top has the card end panel a little proud of the fold which is very common on this cover, that purely in manufacture.
Right Edge s , and Type: Both very clean and largely sharp with little wear.
Any thickening or burring light and mild as seen viewed end-on.
Record enters on the back edge, all are guaranteed untrimmed or enhanced.
Spine and Text: With the raised type of inner hinge, this spine will in most cases form a natural central recess and the text will sink a little.
Exactly that here, but only very gentle, so the text is easy to read and fully present under uncracked or peeled laminated.
Solid, straight and devoid of wear, this spine is also impressive.
Corners: A very small rub to the front bottom right tip, little else, excellent or even better shape retained with no bashes or dinking of any real note.
Cover Summary: A very impressive example of this very famous rock cover, this does it strong justice and will please many collectors.
The Harvest Inner Sleeve: NEAR EXCELLENT: or thereabouts.
Only marked down for darkening of the paper, so a little aged in appearance as seen.
Minimal creasing and the lining present with no edge splits or repairs.
Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading: EXCELLENT: arguably better.
A very fine visual copy that is very clean with equally fine shine and solidly pressed.
A copy appearing modestly, and carefully played on all the evidence with any surface trace marks very light, fine and faint as seen critically under bright angled light.
No penetrating stylus marks and well pressed.
Visually a splendid record that should please many collectors again.

Sound Quality and Audio Grading: This major rock album plays even above it s high visual grading with little to fault.
Offering strong, high-quality sound with a wide dynamic range and great production.
Any surface sounds are minimal indeed and this is a clean pressing with no tracking issues.
Few available copies will outperform this very early pressing significantly I feel sure this being the earliest I have seen to date.
Most have considerably higher stamper codes, and even 1 mothers are not common.
Both channels are clean and sharp, I am certain this record has been played only quite lightly and has been generally well stored and carefully handled.
Nothing of any real note spoilt my pleasure when play-grading this legendary set.
It will prove difficult to find significantly better and can be strongly recommended.
As played-graded on a high-end Linn LP12 Sondek turntable with Ittok Mk II arm and Ortofon Quintet Black moving coil cartridge tracking at 2.2 grams.

The boxes are then reinforced with at least TWO, ULTRA THICK stiffeners for maximum extra protection these are FOUR TIMES thicker than commercial stiffeners and are custom-made for oneadayrecords.
Really rare and expensive albums will even be Double Boxed if deemed necessary and possible.
When larger boxes are used, the thick record and stiffener sandwich is then thickly embedded into bubble-wrap to bulk out the record inside the box to centre the item inside to reduce the risk of damage still further.

SOME GENERAL GUIDES TO WEAR AND CONDITIONS TO HELP YOU DECIDE My Use of Terminology: Surface Marks Superficial, usually light marks, hairlines or light scuffs that rarely sound.
Scratch a needle mark that goes below the record s surface, some will sound, some will not, my play-grade will inform.
Original a record that has been pressed with the first label design which does NOT necessarily mean a very first pressed record.
First Pressing A record that I believe or know to be a genuine very first pressed record.
I do not claim to always know for sure, and that s why I state the stamper and matrix numbers if at all possible, for those who claim to know what they all mean, the information is there for the collector to decide.
I prefer to use terms like Early Copy rather than First Pressing if I am not totally sure.
Surface Sound Mild, light sound, usually light crackle or similar.
Distortion Break up of the actual sound caused by groove wear or damage from a chipped stylus the most undesirable form of unwanted sound, vintage mono records were the most prone to this happening but not exclusively so.
The symptoms of distortion are high frequency clipping, moderate constant crackle or an echo type sound quality.
Violin, piano and vocals are most prone to groove-wear distortion.
Feathering Fraying or softening of the entry edge of a cover.
Covers with feathered entrance edges are more likely to have had the actual record inserted and removed more than a non-feathered, sharp-edged cover which are always far more attractive.
Set Off, actually a printer s term for dark ink leaving mild residue on pale or white ink when rested upon.
e.g.
when a gatefold cover has black ink closed against white, this can leave some black residue on the pale area this is mostly unavoidable or course.
