Up for Auction In my opinion probably the best copy of this record that has been offered to the public.
OK, Here it is, Most of you who are looking at this know what it is.For those of you who do not. It is the VERY RARE 1st press of a "Beatles" Album recorded with Tony Sheridan in Hamburg in 1961.It is the One that was stopped by further release by Capitol, Epic and Polydor.Only a Handful of the 1st press are in existence. There have only been 6 sold on Ebay in the last 10 years. As to how many are still around the guess is only a few, this is one of them.
On to the details. Please see all the photos below
The Vinyl: it is heavy almost 180 grams, interesting considering it was not a major label.I am calling this vinyl NM full luster and looks unplayed. The etchings in the run-out are BM 69-a Bm 69-bThere is a small manufacturing defect that does not affect play but that is expected considering who pressed this.I do have a VPI, but I am leaving the cleaning to the buyer, there are a few finger prints and the normal dust but that is it.The labels are NM no marks or spindle marks.
Inner sleeve -Please see all the photos below.
Cover: Again, Please See All Photos Below. This is a harder call, The Front Lamination is NM, no creasesThe back and the sides have colored over age.The back cover has some discoloration but this can probably be removed. There is a small tear on the bottom left.No Seam Splits.
On Dec-16-15 at 08:44:11 PST, seller added the following information:In an effort to give as an exact description as possible and in an abundance of caution, I have included in the description the tiny indent in the vinyl near the middle of track one. It is about 1/8 of an inch wide oval that indents about 1/64 of an inch. It is only a visual flaw that you have to look extremely close to even notice. You can not hear it, it has no effect on the sound. I have play tested the record and it plays flawlessly
The record was probably UN-played as there are still strands of vinyl coming of the edges, these fall off as the record is pulled in and out of the sleeve and are an indication of how few times this record has even been taken out of it's sleeve.
