GRADING SCALE : PLEASE NOTE: I m grading these African records to the same strict standards I d grade any record, not relative to the condition you normally find African records in.
NEAR MINT NM
We never assign Mint or Mint - grades, and the Near Mint designation is reserved for records that are visually flawless - as in, not one single mark. All records are graded visually unless otherwise noted, but any record with the Near Mint designation has also been play tested.
VERY GOOD PLUS VG
Records in VG condition are in superb condition, but may have a faint mark or imperfection that does not appear to affect play holding it back from Near Mint status. A record can still attain this condition with a slight but audibly imperceptible warp, but this will always be noted in the description. VG records should play with no surface noise, clicks, pops, skips or hiss, as well as retain their luster.
VERY GOOD VG
Many of the imperfections found on a VG Record are more obvious on a VG record. VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail.
VG records may have some surface noise, especially during the soft passages at a songs intro and ending but should never skip, pop loudly or overpower the music. A record receiving this grade should be a strong play copy, and something we d personally be willing to play out.
GOOD
Be forewarned, records in G condition will have significant and obvious flaws, and are not recommended for collectors who abhor surface noise, though they should still play through without skipping. We typically avoid selling records in this condition unless they are extremely rare and have extra-musical value.
