Item Description

THE ROLLING STONES - PROMOTIONAL ALBUM
Conceived in September 1969, this ultra-rare album was designed specifically for U.S. radio stations to promote their upcoming U.S. tour.
The album collected the best tracks left off the group s two official existing compilations, adding a new track Love In Vain from the then forthcoming Let It Bleed LP.

The tracklisting on this U.S. pressing is the same as the U.K. version except it includes the short version of Everybody Needs Somebody To Love as it appears on their U.S. LP Rolling Stones, Now

There is no definitive evidence as to how many of these LPs were produced, but numbers as small as 200 have been widely quoted.

This 100 genuine 1969 U.S. pressing is on the blue silver London label: RSD-1

Matrix numbers: ZAL 9241-1 ZAL-9206-A

Vinyl weight: 153g

Housed in a U.S. printed slick-on-posterboard cover, complete with full colour London inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Disc

Labels: EXCELLENT

Both are clean and unblemished with just a small number of light spindle trails around each centre hole.

Visual: VERY GOOD

Both playing surfaces are clean and retain a respectable deep-gloss shine. Side 1 bears a number of small scratches, a few of which are feelable , however side 2 is cleaner and less marked with a few wispy paper marks being the only noticeable addition. Both sides of this rare gem lie 100 flat on the turntable when playing.

Sound Quality: VERY GOOD

This disc appears to have received only a small amount of play and the sound quality throughout is clear and unworn, with no trace of any groovewear or crackle. There is an occasional light tick click, but certainly no jumps or repeats or other such major distractions.

Cover: VERY GOOD

This highly respectable example is fully intact with some unavoidable age-related toning around the edges and slight storagewear rubbing to the front panel. There are some initials written in blue ball-point pen in the lower left corner of the front panel, but all corners are in intact and unsplit with only minor shelfwear bruising. The rear panel is super-clean and totally unblemished and both opening edges are unworn undamaged. There is some damage to the spine but both sets of wording at either end are intact and both the upper and lower seams are unstressed and unsplit.

Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD -

Clean with minor storage wrinkling some splits to the seams.
