Please Please Me was the Beatles first UK album release, released on the 22nd March 1963. First issues of this album were released with the incorrect Dick James Publishing credits for tracks, I Saw Her Standing There and Misery, Do You Want To Know A Secret and There s A Place, these errors were corrected on the second pressing of this album now known as the Northern Songs version second pressing, and still on the Black Gold Parlophone Labels.
Both Black and Gold Parlophone record labels are in superb Excellent condition, the Gold Text, and the Black Background of the Parlophone labels are undamaged, all that is visible are just a few light signs of play around the centre spindle holes.
Matrix and Stamper information:
Side 1,XEX 421-1 N and Side 2,XEX 422-1 N
Side 1 stampers: 1 L and Side 2: 1 L
There is a faint embossed M T tax code stamped on the centre of the Side 2 record label. MT Tax Codes were introduced on the 1st January 1963 through to 30th June 1963, then changed over to the K T Tax Code
Both sides of the heavyweight LP are in Excellent condition, both vinyl surfaces are free from deep scratches and scuffs and show only a few surface hairline scratches which do not sound when played.
The LP plays through all tracks with an Excellent sound quality, there are NO skips NO pops or clicks, and NO background crackle or noise noise.
The original, dated May 1963 double sided Parlophone Retail Flyer is in superb Excellent condition, this flier shows this album at the top.
The vinyl LP comes in its original Polythene lined Use Emitex inner bag, the inner bag and is housed in it s original front Laminated Ernest J. Day Co Ltd London, three Flip Back Sleeve, printed with a large mono to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve, and Angus McBean Photograph credit to the bottom right hand corner, nearer to the edge of the front of the sleeve.
The front of this Please Please Me sleeve is in superb Excellent condition, it still retains its deep gloss shine and no LP indentation, with just a few small lamination pinches and mild corner bumps, the top and bottom edges of the sleeve are undamaged and free from any splits and the spine edge too is undamaged and the printed wording Please Please Me The Beatles is clearly legible.
The Reverse Panel of the sleeve is very clean Very Good Plus condition with just light handling signs to the opening edge and light creases to the top and bottom flip-backs, there is a record shop sticker at the top.
