Item Description

Artist Title: Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here

IMMACULATE MINT 1975 UK FIRST PRESSING 5-track vinyl LP with A1/B3 matrices and EMI Records Ltd perimeter text on the labels. The ninth studio album by the British progressive rock group including Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Wish You Were Here. Comes in the original pinched spine picture sleeve, original heavy card lyric printed inner sleeve with cropped corners later pressings have rounded corners , and the all-important glossy postcard with a serrated edge. The record is in as-new Immaculate Mint condition and sounds as wonderful as ever. And the sharp cover would be in Near Mint condition if it were not for a circular yellow tinge on the front and to a much lesser extent the back due to the type of storage unit it was kept in for 41 years, while the postcard is in Mint condition. See pics. But for the vinyl alone this is a superb collector s copy of this definitive 70s Progressive Rock album.
Highly desirable for its rare First Pressing SHVL 814 A-1/SHVL 814 B-3 matrices and immaculate Mint condition vinyl, and increasingly difficult to find in this condition. This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to add this unbelievable one owner rarity to your collection at an extremely advantageous price.

This historic LP Pink Floyd s fastest-selling album ever is hardly ever offered for sale in this condition if ever.

My favourite Pink Floyd album has always been Wish You Were Here, and you know why? It has soul, that s why it s Roger Waters lament for Syd

This is the extremely rare real thing: a genuine IMMACULATE MINT CONDITION 1975 UK FIRST PRESSING FROM THE FIRST CUT. The record is in immaculate as-new condition, as is the postcard, and the cover and inner sleeve are in excellent condition except unfortunately for the discolouration mentioned above. If it was not for that discolouration I would normally rate this cover and sleeve as Near Mint but in view of this defect I have down-rated it to Good. All items are free from any other major defects such as tears, dog ears or writing. See pics. All items are the genuine originals bought together by me in 1975 one careful owner not reprints or replacements. The LP is the original 1975 UK stereo LP, which was only played once or twice on top-end audiophile equipment and lovingly cared for.

If there is a better album from this era, I d like to know what it is.

Pink Floyd followed the commercial breakthrough of Dark Side of the Moon with Wish You Were Here, a loose concept album about and dedicated to their founding member Syd Barrett. The record unfolds gradually, as the jazzy textures of Shine on You Crazy Diamond reveal its melodic motif, and in its leisurely pace, the album shows itself to be a warmer record than its predecessor. Musically, it s arguably even more impressive, showcasing the group s interplay and David Gilmour s solos in particular. And while it s short on actual songs, the long, winding soundscapes are constantly enthralling.
The album was certified Silver and Gold 60,000 and 100,000 sales respectively in the UK on 1 August 1975, and Gold in the US on 17 September 1975. It was certified six times platinum on 16 May 1997, and by 2004 had sold an estimated 13 million copies worldwide. Have a Cigar was chosen by Columbia as their first single, with Welcome to the Machine on the B-side in the US.

This may be your only ONCE IN A LIFETIME chance to own this rare piece of music history in this condition.

This is my very favourite music album and represents the pinnacle of progressive rock for me. If you re a prog fan and haven t heard this, you need to remedy this immediately.
