Item Description

Up for bid is a rare LP, " 'Round About Midnight at the Cafe Bohemia" by Kenny Dorham. This is an original flat edge mono press, released by Blue Note (BLP 1524). Here is some extra info from the internet about this LP:
LP is VG+, with light scuffs and a couple of tiny scratches - plays with some surface noise. This is an original mono US pressing with a deep groove on either side. The address on either side is the 767 Lexington Ave address, and DOES NOT have the "R" underneath the "E" in Blue Note at the bottom of the interior labels. There is a blue ink stamp around the spindle hole on either side (see pictures). The matrix area has the ear and RVG etched on either side. The actual matrix info is as follows: etched RVG with etched BN-LP-1524-A followed by "the ear"/ etched RVG followed by the "ear" with etched BN-LP-1524-B. The back of the jacket has the 767 Lexington Ave address printed at the bottom. Listen to all of the tracks from this actual LP, for reference:

Interior labels are clean and LP retains a nice gloss. Jacket is VG, with seam splits. Before I get into the description of the jacket, please note that this is a "Bottom Loader" jacket. In other words, the lip where the LP is inserted into the jacket is beneath the picture on the front of the jacket, although the text on the back of the jacket reads right side up. All splits are going to be relative to the lip of the jacket (with the picture and text turned to the left 90 degrees). First split starts at the front top right corner. This travels toward the spine about 5 1/2 inches. There is a split in the center of the spine about 3 1/2 inches long. There are a couple of splits along the bottom seam, each no longer than an inch. All corners show corner wear. All seams show wear. The back has a couple of small spots of discoloration and a blue ink stamp in the top left corner, but over all very clean. There is some light scuffing on the bottom of the back of the jacket (see pictures). Jacket retains a nice gloss and the colors remain bright. This is a solid addition to any jazz collection! Don't miss this rare gem! We will pack this securely for safe delivery - this will be a little heavy due to the inserts we put in the LP mailer. LP will be packaged inside of a paper sleeve and placed in a polybag, outside of the jacket. Domestic delivery will be via USPS media mail including a tracking number.
