PLEASE PLEASE ME AN ORIGINAL FIRST ISSUE 1963 BLACK AND GOLD PARLOPHONE LABEL, STEREO LP WITH DICK JAMES SONGS CREDITS, Catalogue No, PCS 3042

Please Please Me was the Beatles first UK album release, released on the 22nd March 1963. This first issue was released with the incorrect Dick James Publishing Information for side one tracks, I Saw Her Standing There and Misery, and side 2, Do You Want To Know A Secret There s A Place.

Both Black and Gold Parlophone record labels are in superb Excellent condition, the gold text, and the Black background of the Parlophone labels are undamaged, all that is visible are just a few light signs of play around the centre spindle holes.

Matrix and Stamper information:

Side 1 matrix, YEX 94-1.

and Side 2, YEX 95-1.

Side 1 stampers, 1 R and Side 2, 1 G.

There is an embossed M Z T tax code stamped on the centre of the Side 1 record label.

Both sides of the heavyweight LP are in Very Good Plus condition, both vinyl surfaces are very clean and bright and free from deep scratches and show a few surface hairline scratches on both sides which do not sound when played.

All tracks play with great sound quality, no pops, clicks or skips and with just very mild background static/crackle heard on the quieter tracks, overall a really impressive sound quality from this early vinyl LP.

The LP comes in its original Polythene lined Use Emit-ex inner bag, and is housed in it s original front Laminated Ernest J. Day Co Ltd London, three Flip Back Sleeve, printed with a large STEREO to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve, and Angus McBean Photograph credit to the bottom right hand corner, nearer to the edge of the front of the sleeve.

The original first issue sleeve is in overall Very Good Plus/Excellent Minus condition, a respectable sleeve with a glossy front panel showing mild LP storage signs, mild corner bumps, light rub marks to the bottom edge, and a small 1 split on the bottom of the opening edge.

The reverse panel of the sleeve with a couple of small stains and handling signs near to the opening edge, the spine edge and the wording are fine.
