DESCRIPTION: One of the truly great deep country blues 78s from the late 1930s - ranks with the small handful of artists like Bukka White and Robert Johnson who recorded intense guitar blues sides at this late date. Nothing is known about Torey, who recorded this one 78 at a Birmingham, Alabama ARC regional session in April 1937 and disappeared. Very scarce - only one trashed copy has been sold on eBay. Music clear with quiet surface. From the Ken Swerilas collection.
