AND LISTEN TO THE SOUNDCLIP / MP3 FREE JAZZ - ITALIAN LIBRARY Lp by
MARIA TERESA LUCIANI aka ANTONIO RICCARDO LUCIANI with GINO MARINACCI and group.
Original Italian pressing on LE MONDE label (LMR 1255), from 1972. Insanely good, Italian
Library masterpiece. For us, one of the absolute hottest examples of the Italian
psych jazz genre. A mythical item with holy grail status by this little
known composer responsible for some of the best psychedelic lounge /
experimental jazz / avant-garde mood music from Italy. The superior big brother
to Luciani's Jazz In Liberta recording on Lupus label with Free Jazz having the
darker underground sound. Totally destroys Franco Tonani Confluenze Fonit
7007 / Santucci Scoppa on Fly and RRC and easily rivals The Physicians on Picci
label. The Free Jazz moniker is actually
mis-leading as this is an ultra-stylish session, lyrical and rhythmical
with some killer themes for club DJs ;) Recorded under his sister's
name and featuring the incredible flute dexterity of Italian jazz supremo, Gino
Marinacci (maybe Marinacci's most obscure recording session too). Other group
members remain unconfirmed and we do not know if Luciani is actually playing all
those deadly fender rhodes stabs / treated keyboard delays and stunning piano
vamps. Next level item and game changer for the Library / jazz connoisseur with
music that will blow you away ;) Our soundclip opens with the fender rhodes
jazz-dance of FREE JAZZ SAMBA (with bending double basslines / stoned
e-piano and punishing Brazilian jazz drums) followed by other important themes.
The whole Lp is outstanding with various moods and atmospheres from the groovy
fuzz distortions of LOGARITMO IN DO / the funky B-boy drums and jazzy
psychedelia of FREE FLUTE IN BEAT (sounds like a missing theme from the Remigio
Ducros - Daniela Casa - America Giovane sessions) / the modal cum spiritual jazz
of PLAYING FOR FUN to the frantic rhythms of TRAFFICO CAOTICO and CRAZY MORNING.
Amazing, hard bop on FOTOGRAMMI / experimental jazz on WALKING IN THE NIGHT /
FREE JAZZ and the beautiful FREE FLUTE theme has twisted motifs influenced by
the John Coltrane standard, Naima. Outrageous drum skills on here / e-piano
played with a wah wah pedal / studio FX and echo delays on the more psychedelic
themes. This is the most elusive release on the tiny Le Monde imprint (a
label with only 6 desirable recordings, all by the maestro and all equally
brilliant with leftfield electronica and other-wordly themes as you will soon
discover on our other Library auctions ;) Personally speaking, we have never
seen this Library on auction before. Micro press run. Near archive condition
overall regardless of a few patches of wear and blemishes to the laminate sleeve
from storage. We doubt you will ever get a better copy than this.
Striking artwork design sleeve. Very rare Library Lp!!! Full tracklisting:

few hairlines from sleeve removal and some faint, old pressing residue marks.
Some light surface noises. Booming production sound. Spindle wear to one side of label. Item taken from an unplayed
deadstock of records and played once for the recording of our soundclip. The
laminated thin card sleeve is closer to M- condition overall regardless of a
small area of laminate chipping / wear to bottom right of the open side (and
again, a little amount of chipping to front top right corner of open side).
Some ring wear / ring creasing / ring dirt marks from storage. A touch of corner
wear in places. Perfect spine. Sharp looking item. Camera flash glare to sleeve
