Item Description

isnw ecp PINK FLOYD - PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN UK PRESSED EXPORT ISSUE? SCX 6157 UNHEARD OF PARLOPHONE LABEL PRESSING CATALOGUE: PARLOPHONE SCX 6157 MATRIX:YAX 3419-1/ 3420-1 GRAMOPHONE CO RIM WORDING MADE IN GT BRITAIN AT THE FOOT OF THE LABEL WELL WHERE TO START WITH THIS INCREDIBLE VOLUME? LETS START BY SAYING THAT 3 WEEKS AGO I SOLD A BEATLES LET IT BE EXPORT VINYL WHICH WAS PRESSED ON THE COLUMBIA LABEL, AND THIS ALBUM CAME FROM THE SAME COLLECTION.
THE RECORD WAS FOUND IN A BOX OF VINYL S IN KENYA.
THEY BELONGED TO A GERMAN WHO LEFT THEN WITH THE BRIT WHO BROUGHT THEM HOME TO THE UK.
IT MAY BE THAT THE RECORD WAS EXPORTED TO KENYA, OR THAT IT WAS TAKEN THERE FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE.
THIS IS UNKNOWN.
IT IS CLEARLY LIKE THE LET IT BE A VERY VERY RARE VOLUME I HAVE RESEARCHED THE WEB FOR 4 WEEKS AND CANNOT FIND A SINGLE EXAMPLE OR AND REFERENCE TO THIS ALBUM BEING PRESSED ON THE PARLOPHONE LABEL WHATSOEVER.
IT WAS CLEARLY PRESSED AROUND THE SAME TIME AS THE BEATLES LET IT BE.
CHECK OUT AUCTION NUMBER TO SEE THE LET IT BE LABELS THERE IS NO TRACE OF THIS VERSION WHATSOEVER ON THE MAJOR VALUE SITES LIKE DISCOGS AND POPSIKE.
OR ANYWHERE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER IF ANYONE OUT THERE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT THIS IS, AND WHERE IT IS FROM I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU, BUT PLEASE ONLY IF YOU HAVE ABSOLUTE KNOWLEDGE AS WE CAN ALL GUESS AND MAKE STABS IN THE DARK BASED ON PROBABILITY IN ALL MY YEARS OF COLLECTING AND SELLING PINK FLOYD VINYL S I HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS ANYTHING EVEN SIMILAR.
MY BELIEF IS THAT THIS CAN SERIOUSLY BE CONSIDERED ONE OF THE RAREST FLOYD VINYLS ON THE PLANET YOU WILL SEE THAT THE LABEL HAS THE GRAMOPHONE CO RIM WORDING AND AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE LABEL IT STATES CLEARLY MADE IN GT.
BRITAIN THE CONDITION OF THE VINYL IS NO WHERE NEAR AS POOR AS THE LET IT BE AND ACTUALLY PLAYS PRETTY WELL.,THERE ARE NUMEROUS LIGHT SURFACE MARKS AND LINES COVERING BOTH SIDES.
HOWEVER THE VINYL DOES PLAY WITHOUT DISTORTION WHATSOEVER SO THERE HAS BEEN NO GROOVE WEAR.
IT PLAYS WITH LIGHT BACKGROUND CRACKLE AND POPS AND TICS AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH SIDE, BUT A MINUTE OR SO INTO THE PLAY ALL YOU WILL HEAR ARE A FEW RANDOM TICS AND POPS AND A LITTLE LIGHT BACKGROUND.
IF IT ALL PLAYED THIS WAY I WOULD GRADE IT AS VG BUT ANYWAY UNLIKE THE LET IT BE WHERE I ONLY RECORDED A COUPLE OF TRACKS BECAUSE I COULDN T STAND LISTENING TO THE CRACKLE, HERE I HAVE RECORDED THE WHOLE LP FROM START TO FINISH AND YOU CAN TELL YOURSELF THAT AFTER THE FIRST MINUTE OF SO IT IS REALLY A GOOD CLEAN SOUND SO HERE IT IS A TOTALLY UNHEARD OF PRESSING ON THE PARLOPHONE LABEL, AND SOMETHING THAT WILL GRACE ANY COLLECTION AS A SERIOUS TALKING POINT THE SLEEVE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE INFORMATION THEM PLEASE JUST DROP ME AN EMAIL GARRY Powered by eBay Turbo Lister
