Item Description

It s time to dispose of my entire Pink Floyd collection, amassed over the past 40 years, so keep an eye out for 1st pressings, monos and stereos.
And some rare 45s.
I will do my best to describe each item in full and questions are welcome.
I will visually grade in bright sunlight.
If I find any blemishes I will grade again after playing through a Rega RP3/Ortofon/Naim setup.
I do not have headphones so of course I might miss some pops and clicks - but I want to stay on good terms with my neighbours I do not grade 50 year old records as EX, even if I think they are.
I can t imagine any exist as EX outside Pink Floyd s own collections or a museum.
The highest I will grade is VG .
Having said that I am not sure a VG does this single I am listing justice.
Of all my Floyd stuff to be listed this is the biggest wrench plus the See Emily Play 45 .
But here goes anway.....
Pink Floyd s first ever single, the picture sleeve demo, released 52 years ago in minute quantities.
The Pink Floyd - Arnold Layne b/w Candy and the Current Bun UK Demo / promo picture sleeve.
I have owned this incredible rarity for decades and played it for the first time10 minutes ago in order to check that there were no problems with it.
And there were none.
It plays beautifully.
No pops or clicks or jumps.
Just pure 1967 psychedelia A visual inspection in bright sunlight shows the expected hairlines from putting the record in and out of the sleeve.
But nothing more.
This record has been well looked after.
I can attest to that for the past 20-odd years as it s been stored away by myself.
But before that it looks like it didn t have much use either.
Has to be a VERY strong VG at least.
Columbia white label with the red A indicating demo record.
Pop out centre has been popped out.
Dunmo Music.
DB 8156.
Matrix information7XGA 27877 - 1.
Stamper 1 G7XGA 27878 - 1.
Stamper 1 G It doesn t get earlier than that - one of the first 500 Pink Floyd records ever made.
The fragile, unlaminated sleeve has no splits.
The shape of the recod can me made out, but it is not ring-wear.
Some very light creasing exists and maybe some light rubbing to the right when the record has been removed , but I am being very critical here.
It has obviously seen very little action over the past half century.
VG I know many people will want to contact me and ask for a Buy It Now price, or request I stop the auction early.
Please try to resist this urge as I will be starting this auction at a pittance and letting it run until its conclusion.
It will be dispatched from the UK during the first week of July, using Royal Mail tracked.
This covers up to 250.00 insurable loss.
If you require more insurance this will be at the purchaser s own expense - I sent a 2000 45 to Ireland recently via courier with full insurance and it cost 200.
I reserve the right to insist on courier to certain countries.
I am willing to combine postage.
