A true Tulsa music rarity, this is the Totty Brothers self-titled 1977 LP, Totty, of which only 50 were produced by the brothers and handed-out to area DJs and potential investors as well as a few friends as a promotional piece. Today it is considered as one of the most under-rated, hard-rock garage LPs to come out of Tulsa s vast music scene, and their early albums fetch strong prices this particular one will fetch several hundred dollars. The cover still has its shrink-wrap and is NM/M- the vinyl and labels are also NM/M- the marks you see in the pics around the spindle holes are factory imperfections, not spindle scrapes or gouges. Included with the vinyl record were these items: 1 A credits sheet 2 Three lyrics sheets 3 Two black-and-white photographs of the brothers and ONE EXTRA TOTTY STICKER, like the one the front of the otherwise-solid-white cover, to be attached to school notebooks, auto bumpers, etc. and all of these items were produced on a mimeograph machine rather than a copier. The book I authored that tells the story of this band, along with 100 stories of other Tulsa/Eastern Oklahoma bands and musicians, including Marble Phrogg and J.J Cale, Davis Gates and Leon Russell s early Tulsa days, can be found at my website: tulsa45s.net.
Please note that after the book was published, I was told by one of the Totty brothers, whom I interviewed for their story, that some promo LPs had two extra stickers, others had only one BUT, I have yet to find a promo LP sold on eBay that had any extra stickers included.
