Item Description

This auction is for an original 1972 Magic Carpet LP MR20 on the legendary Mushroom Records label.
The LP is in unplayed mint condition and the cover is in an excellent state considering the age of the LP, as are the inner sleeve and the LP itself, having been virtually untouched since it was pressed.
The inner paper sleeve does show some signs of age, i.e.
slight discoloration or tarnishing, etc.
Plus the back of the main sleeve has a feint circle showing.
Please see the photos.

One review states: Based around the classically trained sitar virtuoso Clem Alford and the breathtaking ethereal vocalist Alisha Sufit, Magic Carpet delivered perhaps one of the finest Indian-influenced psychedelic folk albums of the 1970 s.
Unfortunately this supremely talented collective split before the album was released.
Opening with the title track this mystical instrumental raga sets the tone for this beautiful and deeply spiritual album.
Alisha Sufit s astonishing vocal talents are included in nine of the twelve tracks, the remaining three being instrumental.
She also plays acoustic guitar.

This psych folk gem is a unique and extraordinary fusion of East and West, Magic Carpet being one of the very first bands truly to combine Indian and western instrumentation, with Jim Moyes playing guitar and Keshav Sathe on Tabla.
Only 1000 of this highly collectable original 1972 album were made.
Please feel free to contact the seller for any queries plus additional photos.
Tracks : The Magic Carpet, The Phoenix, Black Cat, Alan s Christmas Card, Harvest Song, Do You Hear The Words, Father Time, La La, Peace Song, Take Away Kesh, High Street, The Dream.
Good luck and happy bidding
MAILING: the album will be mailed with insurance to the winning bidder well packed in extra thick card, with the album outside the sleeve to make sure no splitting occurs.
