Desirable and killer Italian Library / soundtrack grail that was frankly speaking, unknown to many when we first sold our Flirt label issue a few years ago This copy is the 1st pressing and for us, still one of the most important and best psychedelic scat lounge / funk / jazz / Brazilian influenced recordings of the entire Italian Library genre. Supreme mood music, from sleazy wah wah funk with B-boy drums / funky lounge jazz with bongos, congas and insane flute solos / electronics / fender rhodes and spinette bossa / montuno piano vamps / spaced-out synth lounge with hip hop beats to trippy cinematic themes like CREAM and RELIEF featuring the divine vocals of Edda Dell Orso. Our soundclip opens with ALCOHOLIC the infectious funky soundtrack theme from Squadra Omicidi Chiama Cobra an obscure Karate / Kung Fu gangster B-movie directed by Richard Scott starring Jimmy Lee and Wan Ping . RUSH and ALCOHOLIC were comped on Up The Psycho Mellow / RELIEF and MISGIVING were comped on Metti Una Bossa A Cena also by the Schema label. MAGNUM and SORRY sound like missing themes from the cult UK television series, Randall Hopkirk Deceased. We have basically recorded most of the session as it features so many incredible themes. Next level psychedelic samba and bossa groove on STRAGGLER / RUSH / MISGIVING and CORKING. Big record with certain Japanese DJs and collectors. Heavy vinyl with striking afro-centric sleeve artwork by cult painter / designer G. Pinna. Even the tracklisting sounds amazing. Booming production with a stoned Italian hippie / sleazy giallo thriller sound and the afro latin percussionist totally kills it on several themes too. Vinyl is in shiny, VG condition overall with the usual pressing burn marks common, as nearly all copies have them with patchy opaque blemishes located north / south / east and west on our disc over the Relief theme, the opening track of side 1. Faded, old fusion marks across both sides from compression with the original plastic inner. Less on one side Relief side , a bit more on the other. An old scuff across Rush and a bit on each track beside but does not affect the music. Ticks from a faint mini scratch midway Relief and some light swooshing from the burn marks. Alcoholic has one audible pop right at the end of the music. All themes play with some degree of light surface noises albeit this pressing was never top quality anyway . Booming production sound. Some other soft pops / soft ticks in places as you can hear on our sounclip . The laminated thin card sleeve with crude printing is graded VG overall regardless of any general wear. Light ring creasing with some ring wear / ink rubbing / dirt marks. Front sleeve has some tiny scars / dents / rub marks and a few stubborn dirt marks from storage but again, to be expected. Middle spine area has a mysterious 1.5cm hard waxy section flush with the spine pretty neat, old repair by the looks of it . Some corner wear. A few small wear marks to edges. Back sleeve has an old sticker tear mark under top left corner area . Sharp looking item. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Very rare Library Lp
