This LP was a turning point in the history of Rock music right here on planet earth.It changed everything
And for those of us too poor to afford genuine works of art like original oil paintings and the like.This is the
next best thing. A true piece of art in every sense of the word. Johnny Rotten once said When the Sex Pistols
LP NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS was banned from being hung on display in record shop windows . Its not about
the cover its about whats inside . Well Mr Rotten, I do not agree, and on that I think you should be challenged.
So I challenge you.
Imagine buying this LP 50 years ago in 1967. Your listening to this music that you have never
heard the like of before.You look to the sleeve to find out more about this strange but interesting
bunch of people. Then there s that banana. PEEL SLOWLY AND SEE. Very tempting....
That would drive me nuts.As you listen this LP sleeve keeps talking to you...Peel slowly, and see....
Once you Peel, its over. You know. Sometimes its better to travel, than to arrive That right there
is REAL ART. A piece of paper that keeps getting at you like that. GENIUS. PURE GENIUS. So I put it to
you Mr Rotten that you are wrong. The sleeve is a major part of the art and of everything to do with the LP.
This UNPEELED sleeve is in beautiful condition. Slight dents to the corners and there is a little rubbing
beneath the photo of Sterling Morrison but thats about it. The inside is bright and really clean.
The TORSO covers were the very FIRST PRESSINGS.So called because they used a photo of one of
the dancers Eric Emmersons Torso on the back of the LP and inverted the shot over a picture of the band.
Because they never asked Eric for his permission or never paid him, he threatened to take the band to court.
Clever lad.
The album covers that were sold baring Eric Emersons Torso are exceptionally rare. The ones that Verve records
had covered with these special LAWSUIT STICKERS are much MUCH RARER.And are without the slightest shadow
of a doubt, the RAREST OF THEM ALL These special lawsuit stickers proved very costly to do, more so than having
the sleeves with Eric on them airbrushed out. Which is what they did with the rest.
So to condition.I would grade the sleeve as EXCELLENT. The faults it has are so miniscule. This LP is 50 years old.
All the spinal writings are fully readable on this thick wide spine double click the pictures. As you can see by
the pictures the original VERVE inner sleeve with the VERVE talent wheel is also present and in magnificent
condition.
The vinyl is in superb order with a minimal amount of tiny hairlines only visible under the brightest light.
The vinyl has a very new look and shines when tilted toward the light with a shimmer like mirror. SUPERB.
TOTALLY SUPERB. It plays all the way magnificently with no jumps sticking or hissing. You would be hard
pressed to find a better copy.The rarest of the rare. The rarest pressing of them all. THE MONO VELVET

This prevents further paper scuffs marking the vinyl when removing
the record from the original inner sleeve and prolongs the condition
of the original inner sleeve.
