This really is a drop-dead gorgeous piece of vinyl
The cover is appropriately worn for being 51 years old. That doesn t mean that it s garbage. To the contrary, the seams and the spine are 100 intact with no tears and just a little wear to the spine area, where the gloss has bubbled away from the paper. The front cover shows its full gloss, meaning that none of it has bubbled to the point where it comes off. In fact, remarkably, the gloss still lies flatly adhered to the paper construct of the cover. The back cover is flat-textured, and it has collected a moderate amount of dirtwear and ringwear. But moderate does not mean that the back cover is heavily soiled. It isn t. The overall cover has dulled over the years, but it still presents well. I was tempted to try to clean the front cover a little, but as this piece is so rare, I decided to let the buyer do that if they wish.
The original inner sleeve is present. There are absolutely no splits to any of the three seams and the plastic inside the sleeve is fully adhered. There has been no separation over the decades, leaving dangerously flapping plastic film dangling loosely inside the inner sleeve. This sleeve has astonishingly preserved the vinyl beautifully
The vinyl looks freakin brand new. This is without a doubt what a teenager in 1965 saw when they bought their copy in mono and pulled it out of the cover for the very first time. The vinyl gleams up at you regardless the angle you maneuver it under a light source of your own choosing. Labels are clean. There are one or two light spindle marks that you have to look for. Deep groove on the label. Currently there are several copies for sale on eBay, but compare their labels to these. Read the descriptions of the vinyl conditions and then compare to this copy.
Playback is magnificent. The mono sound is bold and punchy, the vinyl quality is silky and quiet with an occasional static tic between bands, never during the music. The vinyl is sturdy and it looks and sounds brand new.
