Item Description

DAVID BOWIE THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD.
THE GERMAN ROUND COVER .
MACHINE STAMPED MATRIX.
GERMAN 1971 ORIGINAL.
Due to this items rarety an excellent forgery exists.
Here s some info on how to tell the fake from this, the real thing.
First, the sleeve on the fake is made of very thick card stock twice as thick as the original.
Along the top near the wing tip and all the way across the back top edge is a sellotape mark but no sellotape.
The original they copied this from must have been ripped so repaired with tape this point will become extremely relevant further on in the listing .
The fake vinyl record itself is very thin , you notice this soon as you touch it.
The matrix number is freehand scratched, whereas machine stamped on the original.
The label is a darker shade of blue on the phoney ,the typeset is smaller on the fake and not so well defined as it is on the original.
As forgery s go it is very, very good.
So , we know this to be the genuine article.
And here it is in its rarest form.
AS CLOSE TO MINT AS POSSIBLE.
THIS IS IN MUSEUM PIECE QUALITY.
Back in 1983 I got the bus into Manchester city centre town as we called it.
Then walked to Swan street on the outskirts of town to visit The Record Peddler.
A fine indapendant record shop.
Who remembers that shop ? .
Record Peddler were Bowie Specialists, and there behind the counter was the first German Rouncover I ever saw.
I asked could I have a look at it.
They said yes Alan, but you cant touch it .
I was a regular and was in that shop every fortnight.
I asked the price then burst out laughing and said 350 , nobody s gonna buy that are you mad ? No Alan we are not mad, and you cant touch it because it is sold .
If you see one anywhere else Alan, buy it , it will one day be very expensive .
It was by far and away the most expensive record I had ever seen.
Since then I have owned 15 of these beauties .
I think anyone who has got this LP is in the EXACT same place as I was for years.....
ALWAYS UPGRADING, Always trying to improve and find the copy closest to mint condition that you can.
The problem with this LP is, the cover is so FANTASTIC , the design is so AMAZING you re forever opening it up to stare at it in awe of its fascinating bewilderment .
SO THEY ARE ALL KNACKERD.
THIS IS IN CONDITION THAT THE HARDEST OF THE HARD BOWIE COLLECTOR HAS ACCEPTED DOES NOT EXIST.
Make no mistake.
To you all.
Looking for a MINTER or as close to as possible ???? YOUR SEARCH IS OVER.
THE BEST CONDITION IMAGINABLE.
I can not fault this record at all.
This is going to be very hard to part with.
I just test played it.
INCREDIBLE.
There is nothing.
NOTHING AT ALL.
In terms of sound quality, as this record plays, that should not be there.
Not a pip or whisper.
IMMACULATE.
It sounds CRYSTAL CLEAR as if David Bowie , Mick Ronson and the boys are gonna come walking out of the speakers, as if there in the room with you.
Christ is nt All the madmen superb.
And the haunting After all, it is so sad this man is gone....
Double click the pictures the record is PRISTINE.
BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN.
Never seen an old record in codition like this, words fail me.
It looks brand new.
The vinyl holds the highest lustre I have seen.
When you tilt it into the light, it has a sheen , like a brand new car under showroom lights.
INCREDIBLE.
The labels are flawless .
I SWEAR THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT TO THE WINNER.
Up close, and both labels bare not a single spindle trail to be seen.
There is nothing here to prove this was ever played .
The lyric inner sleeve is impeccable.
That beautiful Round Cover is incredible.
I think this record was made.
Sold on the day.
Stored away, and never even looked at until it got into my hands.
I believe I am the only person who has played this LP .
When you open it out, the two sides of the circle at either sides of Bowie s face fold back on and by their own accord.
Due only to the fact they have been in their folded away position since 1971.
Double click the pictures and see it do this.
Also to those of you who have never seen this great item before.
Look at the shots with the sleeve unfolded the LP looks so small .
What an impressive item AMAZING ALL THE WAY.
All the spinal writings are undamaged and intact and can be read perfectly.
Its hard to photograph this due to the colour on the sleeve near the catalouge number .
Whoever wins this is going to be very pleased.
Whoever wins this I hope will also be advised I have stored this BEAUTY.
MY WAY, for about 22 years. The winner will receive it stored my way.
My way works.
Sometimes when your buying a record condition dose nt matter.
Please think about that for a while.....
Record collector values the Beatles White album 1 to 10 at 7,500 and says this words in its valuation Numbers 1 to 10 7,500 REGARDLESS OF CONDITION I saw a copy of The Sex Pistols God Save the Queen on A and M worth 8000 sell for 2500.
What s interesting is....
It was snapped in 2 halves.
Fit only for framing only, but it sold so well.
My point here is.....
Right here on this German roundcover the topic of condition....
GOES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION IT IS ALL.....
THAT MATTERS Ask yourself these questions....
IS THIS RECORD RARE ? IS THIS RECORD HIGHLY DESIRED ? IS THIS RECORD HIGHLY PRISED ? DOES THIS RECORD HAVE THE ONE THING THAT IS MISSING FROM EVERY OTHER GERMAN ROUND COVER.
ON THIS PLANET ???? I have one thing to say to ALL who are looking for their FINAL UPGRADE.
CONDITION CONDITION CONDITION Face it, this is the one you want.
Its got the lot.
Better still..
Guess what else ITS GOT ? A PENNY START AND NO RESERVE Penny start and no reserve.
