Item Description
Hello again everyone - yes, it s me again, for the 3rd and final time relishing this item in an attempt to add more photos, which at present I m still unable to do for some mysterious reason. No matter what - this time I am letting this item run right through to it s complete listing duration, and will NOT be ending the listing early.
So, once again - this single is the original 1977 A M 45RPM single of God Save The Queen /No Feeling, by The Sex Pistols. The famous story behind this single for anyone still unfamiliar with the legendary saga is that this record is one out of 25,000 singles that were originally pressed back in March 1977.
However - when A M dropped the punk band from the record label after only 6 days due to the groups unacceptable behaviour - A M ordered that all the records should be destroyed.
Speculation on just how many singles survived this mass destruction has passed into the realm of myth and legend, and range anywhere from just a small handful, right up to a few hundred.
It is impossible to say exactly how many copies of this record are still available Worldwide, but you can be absolutely certain that the few remaining ones are now highly desirable and much sought after by collectors.
If something as unique as this single has such a thing as a going rate , the valuation that I have been able to discover online is somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000, although I am aware that some have been known to sell for more than this amount in the past.
I am aware that anything is only worth as much as someone is prepared to pay for it, but this is the only evaluation that I have been able to acquire so far.
I m trying to include as much information in this description as possible to save paople having to message me for any additional information.
However, if there is anything further that you wish to know, please just contact me and I will get back to you at my earliest opportunity.
The single itself is in an extremely good, clean condition without any marks, scuffs, scratches or defects of any kind.
I haven t actually played the record myself, as I don t want to risk damaging it in any way whatsoever. The single comes complete with it s original A M Matt black paper record cover, which in turn is inside a clear protective sleeve.
This single has generated a lot of interest immediately it was listed, so although I m starting the auction price at only 99p - I m certain that this item will find it s true potential by the end of the auction.
