Poor/Worn Unfortunately acetates were never made for longevity, they were just basic one off listening devices, hence the audio quality is never quite as standard as the final vinyl issues are. 1960/70s ones also have a tendency to corode due to the metal under the thin vinyl layer. This one has corroded quite badly with metal showing in a few small dots, there are lots of bumps and lumps where the vinyl has lifted/flaked. It plays through, there is a fair bit of background noise, though the music just about overpowers it. Due to the lumps and bumps the record jumps and skips a handful of times and there are some ticks. I think it is unlikely but there might be scope to clean up the recordings either manually or more likely digitally. Please listen to actual record below before considering bidding. |
