This is a genuine and rare original 1966 SECOND STATE PASTE OVER STEREO BUTCHER LP Package for The Beatles 1966 USA album release Yesterday and Today LP.
Collectors please note that there are three stages of this iconic Beatles album.
The first version is known as a First State , IE, the VERY FIRST ISSUE, as it was intended for release, before it was withdrawn.
The second version, this one, is known as a Second State Paste Over .
This is where Capitol Records designed a new slick to be pasted over the offending Butcher cover.
The new slick is known as the Trunk Cover.
The third version is known as a Third State Peeled and this is where an individual or a professional has removed the trunk slick to reveal the Butcher Cover beneath.
This second state pasted over version is in absolutely stunning and immaculate condition and has to be graded as an almost perfect Mint Minus example, the sleeve is immaculate from corner to corner and in the best condition available.
The pasted over Trunk Cover Slick shows the V neck of Ringo Starr seen through the Slick, this is visible below the album title on the right side of the sleeve, also the trunk cover has been placed very slightly out of line to the sleeve and reveals a small portion of the original first state image at the bottom left corner.
The sleeve sits totally FLAT with no curving/bending.
There are NO splits to the edges, no staining, no creases, simply a perfect sleeve.
The reverse panel of the sleeve is also super clean, showing no age spotting or staining.
The spine edge too is in undamaged condition, with no splits, cracks or tears or crushing, and the wording Yesterday and Today The Beatles are clearly legible.
This Second State Paste Over Sleeve was manufactured at the Los Angeles, California pressing plant, indicated by the small No 5 printed on the reverse of the sleeve.
Also included is a first issue, original Yesterday Today stereo Vinyl LP on the Capitol Rainbow Label, this LP is also in immaculate condition and is in Mint condition, the LP looks to be unplayed, and comes complete with its original Capitol Records advertising printed inner sleeve.
The side 1 matrix s are, ST-1-2553-B-16 and side 2, ST-2-2553-A -13.
This is an immaculate Yesterday And Today stereo second state pasted over sleeve with a mint vinyl disc, and is GUARANTEED 100 original and authentic.
