On offer here is a VERY rare LP especially in this condition by David Bowie called Hunky Dory and is an ORIGINAL 1971 UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press RCA label THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN FACT, THIS IS ONE OF DAVID BOWIES RAREST LPs EVER - TO FIND AS A 100 GENIUNE UK 1ST PRESSING FOR SOME REASON MOST LIKELY BECAUSE THIS LP WAS RE-ISSUED IN AN ALMOST IDENTICAL FORMAT PEOPLE OFTEN MISS WHAT IS ONE OF THE RAREST DAVID BOWIE LPs OF ALL TIME THIS ONE I WILL EXPLAIN JUST HOW RARE THIS LP REALLY IS:-
THIS LP WAS 1ST RELEASED IN DECEMBER 1971 AND WAS RELEASED AT A TIME WHEN DAVID BOWIE WAS VIRTUALLY A COMPLETE UNKNOWN. SALES OF THE LPS WERE AS POOR IF NOT POORER THAN HIS PREVIOUS LP MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD AND THE LP WAS QUICKLY DELETED AFTER ONLY SELLING IN TINY AMOUNTS. AND IT WASNT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1972 AFTER THE MASSIVE SUCCESS OF THE ZIGGY STARDUST LP RELEASED IN JUNE 1972 WHEN THIS LP WAS THEN RE-ISSUED AND RE-DISTRUBUTED AND HIT NUMBER 3 IN THE UK CHARTS. HOWEVER, THE RE-ISSUE COPIES OF THIS LP THAT SOLD IN LARGE AMOUNTS IN LATE 1972 WERE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO THIS ORIGINAL 1ST PRESSING WHICH WAS 1ST RELEASED AND FLOPPED BACK IN DECEMBER 1971 AND AS A RESULT FINDING A 100 GENIUNE 1971 1ST PRESSING WITH SOME AMAZING DIFFERENCES IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE AND MAKES THIS LP ONE OF THE RAREST DAVID BOWIE LPs EVER MADE I WILL EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCES BELOW....
FIRSTLY THE MOST OBVIOUS DIFFERENCE IS THAT THE COVER IS LAMINATED,
AND IS THICKER BETTER QUALITY THIS IMMEDIATELY MAKES THE LPs
COVER LOOK AMAZING COMPARED TO THE POORER QUALITY THINNER UNLAMINATED
RE-ISSUES, AND IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT ONLY THE 100 GENIUNE
1971 1ST PRESSINGS WERE EVER LAMINATED LIKE THIS AND SECONDLY THE
LABELS ARE SHINY LATER ONES ARE MATT AND HAVE DIFFERENT LABEL
CREDITS SO BEWARE OF SWOPPED AND LATER RECORDS - BECAUSE ONLY THE
EARLIEST 1ST PRESSINGS HAD THESE LABEL CREDITS THIRDLY THERE IS
ABSOLUTELY NO MAINMAN CREDITS ON ANY PART OF THIS LP LATER ONES
DO AND EVEN THE ULTRA RARE LYRIC INSERT - IS OF THE EARLIEST
1ST PRESS TYPE WITH 1ST PRESS CREDITS IDENTICAL TO THE LABELS
COVER AND SO EVERY SINGLE PART OF THIS LP IS COMPLETELY ORIGINAL
TO THE VERY 1ST PRESS DAY OF RELEASE BACK IN DECEMBER 1971 SO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT AT ALL - THAT THIS IS THE EARLIEST RAREST 1ST PRESSING EVER MADE
AND SHOWING THAT THE RECORD IS COMPLETELY ORIGINAL TO THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS COVER AND HAS NEVER BEEN SWOPPED OR CHANGED - IT HAS THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS 3T/3T MATRIXES, AND EARLIEST 1ST PRESS BOBIL AND RASPUTIN RUN OFF ETCHINGS EVEN RARER STILL - IT HAS A1/A1 MOTHER STAMPER CODINGS, CLEARLY SHOWING THAT IT WAS ONE OF THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS RECORDS EVER MADE - AND COMPLETELY ORIGINAL TO THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS LAMINATED COVER
THIS LP ALSO HAS THE ULTRA RARE MISSING GEM CREDIT ON THE COVER BACK EVEN MOST LAMINATED COVERS HAVE A GEM PRODUCTION AND THE GEM LOGO IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER ON THE COVER BACK BUT ON THIS ONE IT IS COMPLETELY MISSING - AND THERE IS JUST THE CAT NUMBER THERE INSTEAD I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS LAMINATED COVERS ONLY - OR JUST A PRINTING ERROR MID RUN. HOWEVER, WHAT I DO KNOW - IS THAT ONLY ABOUT 10 OF LAMINATED COVERS WERE LIKE THIS, MAKING THIS THE ALL TIME RAREST 1ST PRESSING OF THIS LP EVER MADE
NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN BRILLIANT CONDITION - AND HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1971 UK EARLIEST 1ST PRESSING ON THE EARLIEST 1ST PRESS SHINY ORANGE RCA LABELS, EARLIEST 1ST PRES 3T/3T MATRIX ENDINGS, EARLIEST 1ST PRESS BOBIL / RASPUTIN RUN OFF ETCHINGS, EARLIEST 1ST PRESS A1/A1 MOTHER STAMPER CODINGS, EARLIEST 1ST PRESS INNER SLEEVE, EARLIEST 1ST PRESS LYRIC INSERT, AND EARLIEST 1ST PRESS ROBERT STACE LAMINATED COVER THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY This is the ORIGINAL RCA UK 1st Pressing from 1971 and is in BRILLIANT condition The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is SF 8244 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Shiny RCA labels see picture and is a UK Stereo 1st pressing there were NO Monos
The record labels are in SUPERB condition see pictures with NO wear, NO writing, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL The vinyl is in BRILLIANT condition Most of these 60s/70s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, NO hairlines, NO scufflines, 2 or 3 lighter grooves only visible under VERY bright light ONLY on Changes , and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL JUST PRESSED LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, NO sticking, 3 or 4 brief surface sounds on Changes , NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some EXTREMELY low level background sound on the run on grooves gaps - NOT in the music AT ALL The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO groovewear and NO distortion either The record must grade Very Good if not better BRILLIANT RECORD Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to Brillant The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press inner sleeve which is in BRILLIANT condition THE ULTRA RARE LYRIC INSERT IS IN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT CONDITION - WITH NO DAMAGE AT ALL APART FROM A TINY WEAR TRACE ON 1 EDGE The ULTRA RARE Earliest 1st Press Robert Stace Laminated Cover is in GREAT condition It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only slight corner wear NOT through the colour , NO rips, NO tears, only a few VERY light creases cover is VERY flat looking , VERY shiny laminate, only 1 TINY residue trace in the bottom right corner, NO splits, only some VERY minor evidence of tipping in to the corners, NO annotations, and NO writing The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in GREAT condition with NO sticker marks, NO sticker tears, NO yellowing apart from some MEGA faint residue traces to the VERY edges , NO ringwear, barely ANY rubbing AT ALL, NO grubbyness, and NO writing The cover must grade Very Good PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed if not better - and is still a very VERY decent cover indeed as my pictures clearly show THIS LP SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AS A 100 GENIUNE 1971 EARLIEST 1ST PRESSING WITH LAMINATED COVER, 3T/3T MATRIXES, NO GEM CREDIT, A1/A1 MOTHER STAMPER CODINGS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY
