among the rarest and most desirable rock n roll personality watches ever made, as well as one of the rarest pieces of beatles memorabilia.
manufactured in GERMANY in 1968 by SHEFFIELD WATCH, INC.
in very limited numbers.
they made a table clock with a similar design at the same time, but the wrist watch version is far more rare.
the watch features a gold luster case, dial clasp, brightly illustrated watch face, and leather backed wide plastic band illustrated with portraits of each beatle in vivid colors.
no artist credit is given, but each portrait is a direct copy of HEINZ EDELMANN s original yellow submarine illustration directly inspired by PETER MAX , combined with a swirly psychedelic background.
these original watches are very rarely offered for sale.
to our knowledge the only complete original sold in recent years was over 5 year ago, by HAKE S AUCTION HOUSE, for a price of 4,180.00.

LABEL / BRAND : SHEFFIELD WATCH, INC., germany SIZE / APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS : the watch measures 1.35 across, band is 1.25 wide, and watch is 8.5 at its longest dimension.
CONDITION : excellent vintage condition.
recently examined by a watch repair shop confirmed to be in fine working order.
complete all original, with some minor flaws wear but no major issues.
displays beautifully.
all printing on watch face band remains bright, vivid and unfaded.
gold luster casing is remarkably bright clean, with one small 0.25 area of minor surface corrosion at the upper left edge, and only slight overall wear otherwise.
plastic crystal remains perfectly clear with various minor abrasions one 0.25 scratch at center.
watch face edge has a tiny chip in the yellow enamel directly next to the 9.
the chip has caused 2 tiny flecks of yellow enamel to come loose, which can move around under the crystal.
one fleck is currently stuck to the back of the crystal casts a small shadow on the watch face.
these flecks could be easily removed by a professional, and the actual chip does not affect any of the graphics.
band printing is beautifully intact with slight stress at crease point where attached to watch, and a tiny tear at the clasp pin.
leather band backing is splitting at crease point but otherwise clean.
clasp is fully intact but has lost some of its gold luster.
quite nice as-is with a professional cleaning would be even better.
