THE BEATLES - HELP Help was one of only 3 titles to be pressed in mono on the 1-EMI box Parlophone label in late-1969.
Just a few hundred copies were pressed and barely any sold, making this one of the rarest most sought after UK pressings.
This outstanding example is on that scarce 1-EMI box Parlophone label: PMC 1255 1st pressing matrix numbers: XEX 549-2 XEX 550-2 Stamper codes: 9/MDT 1,8/ATM Vinyl weight: 136g Housed in a correct thin-card, front laminated, tri-flipback Garrod Lofthouse printed tri-flipback mono cover.
Complete with original red white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.
CONDITION Disc Labels: NEAR MINT A clean unblemished pair bearing just a single lazy spindle trail around the side 1 centre hole and just two or three on label 2,.
Visual: EXCELLENT Factory-fresh , deep-gloss playing surfaces which apart from a single light/non-sounding surface mark on track 1 on side 1 are totally unmarked in strong daylight.
Even close examination beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals only a few barely visibly wispy paper hairlines on side 2 consistent with the few times this disc has been removed from its inner.
Sound Quality: MINT Played just once or twice, the sound quality is flawless throughout.
Cover: EXCELLENT A respectable example which is bright white and unyellowed.
The front panel is clean glossy with just a single small thumbnail wrinkle on Ringo and a small handful of small spine bends.
There is slight shelfwear to the corners but no heavy bumps or bruising and both opening edges are free from any tears or feathering.
The rear panel is clean and unmarked with a trace of discolouration to the unlaminated edges of the flipbacks.
Both seams are smooth unstressed and the spine is fully laminated worded.
