Item Description

Up for sale folks is a rare copy of Yesterday and Today by The Beatles.
This is a STEREO press, number ST-2553.
The back of the jacket has a 2 near the RIAA symbol identifying it to be pressed at the Scranton plant.
This is a true Butcher third state as as you can see the controversial cover with the Beatles dressed in butcher smocks with raw meat and decapitated baby dolls.
As a true STEREO copy, these were produced in far less quantities than the mono.
It is said for every one stereo, five mono were pressed.
This was in a wood record frame and was on display for many years until very recently.
The frame is not included in this auction to keep shipping prices lower.
Lets talk about condition.
Sleeve is a more standard grade of VG and when I say this I guarantee it.
Lets talk about why the jacket has a few small splits with moderate corner wear.
Center of the bottom seam has some tearing and a developing seam split.
Bottom right corner has a 1 split and creases and dings on all the corners.
On the cover near the bottom right, the cover is starting to peel a bit.
Cover has what I would call waves and could be a result from being peeled.
It also appears to have some moisture staining or dried glue residue on the front cover.
Not entirely 100 positive on what it is though.
Lets talk about the back.
At one point this LP has seen water, as evident through the water staining on the back cover on the entire left side edge.
It has obviously dried, but is noticeable.
Some slight ring wear is also present and should be noted.
That being said, this is a nice copy, but is no where near perfect.
Pictures do speak volumes for the jacket.
Alright, now the record.
Folks it does have a few very light marks and some light hairlines.
This record is very clean however and plays wonderfully with very little to no background noice.
The stereo separation is killer Matrix reads ST1-2553 B4 on side one and ST2-2553-B2 on side two.
Each side has a small triangle with AIM inside it.
The label has very light spindle lines from use.
The record grades in at VG and also includes the capitol inner sleeve.
This gem of a record has NO RESERVE and will be shipped USPS Priority Mail in the US and eBay global shipping program for international buyers.
This will be properly packed in a heavy duty LP mailer, and placed into a large oversized box.
Not shipped in some fimbsy mailer.
Bid high, bid with confidence as this is a stunning piece of rock n roll history These third state copies are getting harder and harder to find as many are horribly peeled.
This is a great investment opportunity.
Please see my other listings as I also have a stunning MONO Butcher copy for sale in a different auction.
