Item Description

THE BEATLES - PLEASE, PLEASE ME This historic UK 1st MONO disc dates from 1st day of production in March 1963 on the black GOLD Parlophone label: PMC 1202 Both labels have the earliest Dick James Mus Co.
publishing credits for tracks 1 2 on side 1 and 4 6 on side 2 This credit was quickly changed to Northern Songs Ltd.
on all subsequent pressings There is a purchase tax code present in the centre of the side 2 label, but only the letter T is readable Earliest possible matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N XEX 422-1N Earliest possible side 1 stamper code: 1/G 1/R Vinyl weight: 161g Housed in a mid-1963 front laminated, tri-flipback Ernest J.
Day printed cover, complete with original poly-lined inner-sleeve CONDITION Disc Labels: EXCELLENT A clean unworn set with no damage or wear to any of the delicate gold print and just a hint of wear to each centre hole Visual: VERY GOOD Both playing surfaces are clean and retain much of their original deep-gloss shine, but with some groove-whitening visible in strong light.
Side 1 is unworn with a few light handling marks, but nothing I would call a scratch.
There is however a moderate 6 cm surface mark on side 2, along with a slightly deeper 1cm scratch on the final track.
Close inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp adds only some harmless light marks consistent with inner-sleeve storage/removal.
Sound Quality: VERY GOOD This copy has received a moderate amount of play but is without any significant deterioration to the sound quality or any major faults.
My play-check detected some light background between tracks and during some of the quieter tracks/passages, but no heavy clicks, jumps or any other noticeable distractions.
Cover: EXCELLENT A fine example of this fragile cover which retains an unscratched, unworn high-gloss front panel with just a few tiny edge wrinkles but no thumbnails or any other significant wear.
All corners are unbumped and both opening edges clean unworn.
The exposed rear panel is pristine white unblemished and all of the delicate flipbacks are intact unworn.
Both seams are smooth unstressed and the spine is in perfect condition.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT Clean flat with a few gentle storage bends but no writing, tears or seam splits.
