Item Description
Here’s a very rare album by John Fahey, entitled “The Early Sessionsâ€. It’s on the Takoma label, number C-1000m, mono pressing from 1967. This is a rather mysterious release, and there is speculation that it was withdrawn from circulation. The back cover lists the contents for two LPs (volume one and volume two). However, there are no known copies of the vinyl for volume two… every copy that has surfaced on the internet has only the single record. The “volume one†vinyl is the legendary 1959 “Blind Joe Death†album, with a few tracks re-recorded in 1964 by Fahey. The vinyl also has a track on side two called “The Transcendental Waterfall†which is not listed on the back cover. The vinyl on this copy grades VG++, maybe a tick lower due to some small pressing bubbles in the vinyl that don’t look as if they would affect play. Cover is in decent shape, small are of paper loss on the front cover where a price sticker once was. Seams are in fairly good shape, just the beginning of a small split at the bottom center and some general rub wear. Very rare album, rarely comes up for sale!! Drop me a message if ebay doesn’t calculate shipping for you. Happy bidding!!
