Item Description

THE BEATLES - PLEASE, PLEASE ME This early UK 1st MONO pressing of their debut LP dates from March 1963 release on the black/gold Parlophone label: PMC 1202 Both sides have 1st variant labels with Dick James Mus.
Co.
publishing credits on tracks 1, 2, 6 7 on side 1 and 4 6 on side 2.
An MT purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N XEX 422-1N Stamper codes: 1/T 1/GD Vinyl weight: 161g Housed in an early, correct-type front laminated, tri-flipback Ernest J.
Day printed mono cover, with Angus McBean credit in the extreme lower right corner.
Complete with its original and correct poly-lined inner-sleeve.
CONDITION Disc Labels: EXCELLENT Both are clean bright with no wear to any of the delicate gold print.
The only significant blemish is a small area of wear to the side 1 centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT Extremely clean and still glossy playing surfaces which in strong daylight bear a small handful of small light surface marks, but nothing I would call a scratch.
Closer examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals little more than a small number of harmless wispy marks consistent with inner-sleeve removal and a sparkling rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT This copy has been well looked-after and has received minimal careful play.
All tracks play with a clarity and power missing from any other issue of this album and are free from any crackle or background interference.
My play-check detected a touch of play-wear on the final two tracks on each side but this is very minor and in my opinion does not spoil the listening experience.
There are certainly no clicks, pops, jumps, repeats or any other audible distraction of any kind.
A tough one to upgrade.
Cover: VERY GOOD A respectable example of this fragile early cover which is hard to find in anything approaching this condition.
The front panel is clean glossy light storage wear rubbing and a few small scratches beneath Ringo.
There is some lighter scratching around the front panels edges where some tape has been removed, but does not spoil the overall appearance.
All corners are in good shape with just a little shelfwear to the lower right corner and no splits to any.
Both opening edges too are free from any major signs of wear.
The exposed rear panel is overall clean white and free from any writing or nay other significant blemishes.
There is a small 2cm section missing form the upper flipback and some minor damage to the lower one.
Both seam are smooth unstressed with no flaking laminate to either and the spine is clearly fully worded.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT Clean unyellowed with a some gentle storage wrinkling but no writing, tears or seam splits For more quality vintage vinyl at fixed prices, please visit our Ebay Store This record will be shipped inside our new exclusive custom-made LP packing box So it reaches you in the same condition it leaves us.
