Item Description

Ozzy Osbourne, known to most of us as simply Ozzy, left Black Sabbath in 1979, after the Never Say Die tour ended.
Some claim he was fired, others say he quit.
I guess it depends on who you talk to He began a solo career that has taken him from the 80s to the 2020s Now in his FIFTH decade, plus another decade with Sabbath well, his music has been a part of the soundtrack of our lives.
That successful solo career got started in the early 80s, with his two metal masterpieces: Blizzard of Oz and Diary of a Madman .
Both had the guitar virtuosity of Randy Rhoads, and both are loved by metal fans all over the world Black Sabbath continued on with Ronnie James Dio, and made great music themselves.
But Ozzy made people take notice...For the release of the Blizzard of Oz album, the godfather of hard rock and heavy metal authorized the release of a 12 picture disc for the live version of a song from Blizzard .
The song? The haunting Mr.
Crowley It became an EP as it s three tracks.
The live versions, all three.
Another track is Suicide Solution , also from Blizzard of Oz , and a non- album track titled You Said It All .
The A side artwork is a variation of the album s cover, and the B side is Ozzy in his sequenced cape.
Tens of thousands if not more of these were made and either sold in stores, or sent to radio stations and record stores.
A very cool collectible to own, but a bit common, and easy to find.
Officially named the Ozzy Osbourne Live EP , it was also named Live Mr.
Crowley here in the States or Mr.
Crowley Live .Then a radio station in California got together with Ozzy and his label, and had a few rare promo picture discs made to give away at that radio station.
A few, as in a HANDFUL, like 50 maybe.
Maybe a few more, more than likely less.
No one seems to really know the exact number This rare promo only picture disc is a 12 record, with Ozzy in his glittery, silver cape, striking a pose.
Same pic both sides.
I ve seen this go for 750.00 here on eBay, in a buy it now sale , and at least 4 or 5 hundred on another record selling site.
There s even an autographed one up now for over twelve hundred But I decided to put my copy up as an auction.
To let everyone have a chance to get in on the bidding fun.
And I even added bonus extras I m offering BOTH versions: the more common, standard picture disc, in its original die-cut sleeve, and the holy grail rare and scarce version that only a few own, from that radio station giveaway.
You ll get both, so you can compare and contrast Lol But wait, there s more...I ll throw in FOUR magazines, with Ozzy covers, to this awesome deal First up is the Oct.
1981 issue of a magazine called Record Review .
It s no longer in existence, but the trippy thing is, the pic of Ozzy on the magazine cover is the EXACT same pic that s on the rare picture disc As fate would have it...Next is issue no.
24 of the magazine from the UK called Kerrang , and Ozzy is on the cover.
Looks like 1982, as the article talks about Ozzy s wedding to Sharon in Hawaii, but the year is nowhere on the mag.
And there s a pic of Brad Gillis, who briefly took Randy Rhodes place until Jake E.
Lee.
Not sure why there s no year, but I figured it out At least FORTY years old or more Magazine number three is the June 1987 issue, and five years after the passing of Randy Rhoads.
Also, the same year that the Tribute album, with Randy s work on it, was originally released.
A great Ozzy and Randy article, plus articles on other awesome metal bands And the last bonus mag is from April of 1993, THIRTY years ago, and it s Rip magazine, with an Ozzy cover Rip was published by Hustler s Larry Flynt, and fell apart after a few years.
But still a great rock magazine The rare promo EP pic disc looks fantastic, and is shiny and clean A few very, very light surface marks are all that I can see.
I cannot vouch for the sound quality, as I never play picture discs or colored records.
This, unfortunately, no longer has the original plastic jacket with hype sticker available.
The more common EP pic disc DOES come with its original die-cut sleeve.
Sleeve and vinyl starting to show it s age, but still holding up well.
Magazines have a few flaws, but the Ozzy articles all look complete, and they each look pretty good TWO 12 vintage early 80s picture discs from Ozzy, plus FOUR vintage rock magazines with Ozzy cover articles and interviews Make that Ozzy fan in your life EXTREMELY happy this holiday season with this very cool Ozzy bundle Or grab these collectibles for yourself, because you KNOW you re worth it Ozzy has been battling through health issues lately, and we wish him and the family all the best.
We love you Ozzy, and hope you re around for a LONG time We also miss Randy Rhoads, and we know he s up there in rock and roll heaven, jamming with all of the others that were gone too soon Good luck bidding....
