Only 250 copies are thought to have been pressed.
The album was recorded at a Glasgow recording studio first 5 tracks were already written with the last track being a jam session hence being credited to the whole group.
The recordings were mastered and quickly pressed by Thor records of Glasgow.On offer here is an extremely rare acetate with what is presumably an unreleased mono mix of this much sought after album.
With the album being recorded and pressed in 1974 most mono pressings were or had been phased out by this point however this was probably mixed by request from the band?I have listened to the acetate once and to my ears this does not sound like a mono fold-down where both right and left channels are just simply merged into one.
It sounds more like a true mono mix with care taken to get the levels right.
Having owned one of the 250 privately pressed albums, this certainly sounds much more punchy and as they say in radio terms hot due to the mono mix.
I have included a audio sample of the first track as well as clear pictures below.The condition of the acetate is surprisingly good as acetates do deteriorate quickly if played too much.
There doesn t appear to be too much wear apart from sleeve removal marks and other light wispy marks.
There are also some slight nicks not chips on the edge of the acetate but these do not affect play.
I would grade it as VG The sleeve is marked with Thor records along with some writing on the top right see pictures .
Two seam splits, one having been taped on the side.
I would grade it as VG.
