PROFESSIONALLY PEELED BUTCHER COVER ...........................................................................................1966 first pressing with bold MONO mixes ...this is a HIGHLY collectible Original RAINBOW Capitol records BUTCHER COVER from 50 years ago...the MONO Butcher is getting hard to find as a CLEAN PEELED third state ...
the Butcher artwork is in highly collectible/valuable condition SEE BELOW making for a solid investment/final collection crown Beatles collectible that will only rise in value as times goes by ...
NOTE: Cost is around 500 to have a professional PEEL your Butcher cover...with that in mind, it is far better to spend the money have a professional do the involved task rather than trying to remove the trunk cover yourself.
Many Butcher covers have been ruined when novice collectors attempted this highly difficult task ...When in doubt, our advice is : DON T BUTCHER YOUR BUTCHER Includes the original printed 66 Capitol Records inner sleeve ::: investment QUALITY ORIGINAL 66 BUTCHER COVER lt gt lt gt lt gt lt gt lt gt lt T gt lt H gt lt E gt lt gt lt B gt lt E gt lt A gt lt T gt lt L gt lt E gt lt S gt lt gt lt gt lt gt lt gt lt gt By the time the Capitol Records released Yesterday And Today, the Beatles were in hot water in America.
The record was released just after John s infamous interview in which he stated that the Beatles were bigger than Jesus , which angered Americans and provoked many bans on their music and public incinerations of memorabilia.
But Yesterday And Today would take public dispproval to a whole new level, as the original cover featured the band in butcher s smocks with baby doll parts and raw meat covering them.
The record was pulled almost immediately - creating an instant collector s item - and in the confusion that followed, several replacement covers were issued.
Songs on the album were taken from the leftovers of the British release Rubber Soul as well as the single/B-side Yesterday/Act Naturally released on the UK version of Help , the single/B-side We Can Work It Out/ DayTripper , and three songs which had not, at that point, been released in the UK: I m Only Sleeping , Doctor Robert , and And Your Bird Can Sing which all wound up on the UK version of Revolver .Drive My Car 2:30 Recorded: October 13, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, EnglandJohn Lennon - lead vocal, tambourinePaul McCartney - lead vocal, bass guitar, pianoGeorge Harrison - lead guitar, background vocalRingo Starr - drumsI m Only Sleeping 3:01 Recorded: April 27, 1966 at Abbey Road, London, England with lead vocal overdubbed April 29, 1966, backward guitar May 5, 1966 and background vocals May 6, 1966John Lennon - lead vocal, acoustic guitarPaul McCartney - bass guitar, background vocalGeorge Harrison - lead guitar, background vocalRingo Starr - drumsNowhere Man 2:45 Recorded: October 21-22, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, EnglandJohn Lennon - lead vocal, acoustic guitarPaul McCartney - bass guitar, harmony vocalGeorge Harrison - lead guitar, harmony vocalRingo Starr - drumsDoctor Robert 2:15 Recorded: April 17, 1966 at Abbey Road, London, England with vocals overdubbed April 19, 1966John Lennon - double-tracked lead vocal, harmonium, maracasPaul McCartney - bass guitar, harmony vocalGeorge Harrison - lead guitarRingo Starr - drumsYesterday 2:08 Recorded: June 14, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, EnglandPaul McCartney - lead vocal, Epiphone acoustic guitarSession musicians - string quartetAct Naturally 2:33 Recorded: June 17, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, EnglandJohn Lennon - acoustic guitarPaul McCartney - bass guitar, harmony vocalGeorge Harrison - lead guitarRingo Starr - lead vocal, drumsAnd Your Bird Can Sing 2:01 Recorded: April 20, 1966 at Abbey Road, London, England but remade April 26, 1966John Lennon - lead vocal, rhythm guitarPaul McCartney - bass guitar, harmony vocalGeorge Harrison - lead guitar, harmony vocalRingo Starr - drums, tambourineIf I Needed Someone 2:24 Recorded: October 16, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, England with overdubs added October 18, 1965John Lennon - tambourine, background vocalPaul McCartney - bass guitar, background vocalGeorge Harrison - double-tracked lead vocal, capoed lead guitarRingo Starr - drumsGeorge Martin - harmoniumWe Can Work It out 2:15 Recorded: October 20, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, EnglandJohn Lennon - acoustic guitar, harmonium, harmony vocalPaul McCartney - lead vocal, bass guitarGeorge Harrison - tambourineRingo Starr - drumsWhat Goes on 2:51 Recorded: November 4, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, EnglandJohn Lennon - rhythm guitar, harmony vocalPaul McCartney - bass guitar, harmony vocalGeorge Harrison - lead guitarRingo Starr - lead vocal, drumsDay Tripper 2:50 Recorded: October 16, 1965 at Abbey Road, London, EnglandJohn Lennon - lead vocal, rhythm guitar, tambourinePaul McCartney - lead vocal, bass guitarGeorge Harrison - lead guitarRingo Starr - drums CONDITION: The cover: Overall with conservative grading: the investment collectible is solid, as follows We are down-grading at VG only as there is wear on seams, the seams have small imperfections, but generally okay and not split.
Note: the main front BEATLES BUTCHER is perfectly peeled M- displaying the legendary colorful setting.
There are NO tears or imperfections anywhere on the original butcher cover slick which is the main attraction.
Most peeled butcher copies will show some if not more tears and imperfections to the cover slick.
Again, this copy has NO tears and NO marks and still retains a strong appearance exactly as the pictures show.
Makes for a fantastic framed wall hanging display item The 4 individual Beatles faces and butcher scene are very clean, a rarity for even the best Butcher covers.
The back cover is extremely hard to find without wear and this copy VG is no exception, though, again, much better than the usual copy.
Overall, a GRAND addition to any valuable collection....
Solid peeled Butchers covers like this are very scarce with most copies are safely tucked away in private collections.
The vinyl is rated: VG and better, representing a respectable platter , even though it s all about the butcher cover - as you know ...
both 1966 mono RAINBOW Capitol labels are clean.
The BEATLES Yesterday Today A cool addition to anyone s music library SEE: SELLERS OTher items for similar cool sounds for head people...
