Item : 12 Album gimmick cover Artist : Catapilla Title : Changes Year : 1972 Issue : Italy 1st issue Vertigo swirl label 6360 074 Songs : 1.

It Could Only Happen To Me WOW Here it is guys the incredibly rare and much sought after ticket item Changes .
the 1972 and 2nd album from UK Prog-Psych- Jazz Rock outfit Catapilla and an original Italian swirl issue with the gimmix-gatefold cover and MINT MINUS vinyl to boot Certainly one of the rarest records on the famous swirl label other hard to find swirl label albums do turn up more often i.e.
Gravy Train Tudor Lodge Linda Hoyle etc however this album rates in the Top 3 collectable Vertigo releases alongside Dr.
Z and BEN and to come across an original in such stunning condition is really something special.
Musically this draws comparisons with early Gong in terms of eerie sound-scapes and even stranger vocalisms.
It is also considered a marked improvement over their respectable debut self-titled effort with noticeably more atmospheric and sonic-progressive themes.
The continued extensive use of sax Robert Calvert along with psych influences certainly gives it that haunting-spacey feel and in a unique sort of way as well.
The excellent and quite frequent solos throughout weave in and out of the trademark relaxing wall of sound en-captured by Anna Meek s unmistakable vocals not an easy listen for the uninitiated that s a given but sure as hell rewarding if you go the distance.
CONDITION see 8 photos above : Vinyl : The question here is whether to rate this record MINT or NEAR MINT.
For my money it has never seen a turntable at all.
An absolute glorious piece in every respect.
Full lustre, not a mark anywhere, no spindle traces whatsoever and appears never played ..
but I can t be 100 certain of that so let s settle on the closest to Mint you are ever going to see which I feel is as honest an appraisal I can give for this outstanding piece.
Labels : Clean.
Sleeve : Apparently this is one of those covers that gets knocked about quite easily so it is very pleasing to note that this one is relatively unscathed.
Some edge-wear at the centre of the lower seam from years of storage it would appear.
It is about 3cm long and whilst certainly not split it is heading in that direction I feel.
No other edge-wear and thankfully, no splits.
No writing.
No ring-wear.
The gate-fold front which is most susceptible to damage it seems is simply terrific with no wear or creasing at all.
There is a minor crease on the main part of the sleeve and is located in the black area just above the eyes though fortunately it is not too prominent.
There is also a little wear to the top left corner as per photos above, though again this is relatively acceptable.
Other than that this cover is difficult to fault at all.
The spine is clean with legible printing.
The colours throughout are vivid and from all accounts this particular jacket is in far superior condition to what one might normally see as there is no getting away from its fragile construction and I can well understand how it could easily sustain damage.
Rating wise this has to fit in-between EX and EX as overall it does present superbly and I can t see anyone being disappointed with the condition here.
POSTAGE COSTS albums are professionally packed and shipped with an outer protector plastic sleeve : To anywhere in Australia is AU 8.00.
For 2 or 3 x LP s the cost is 15.00.
For extra items costs will depend upon weight and destination however I will do my best to keep the combined total at a minimum.
Australia Posts sliding rate scale often allows 10 albums to be posted for around 20.00, again dependent upon total weight and distance travelled.
