Item Description
Philips international sales conference 1969 RAREST PINK ISLAND LP PSYCH PROG Sam GopalHere it is The holy grail for Pink Island completists.
First time on ebay.
This album is so rare that there exists barely any references about it.
It was pressed in England for a record conference in 1969.
Textured first pink Island label with ball logo.
Record- and matrix number: SAM-4.
Heavy UK 60s Island pressing.
The flimsy, fragile gatefold cover was clearly not made by a record company but by CCS Advertising Associates as it is slightly bigger then your average LP size.
The funny thing about this compilation album is that it contains some artists from the Stable label, UK underground acts like the Deviants and Sam Gopal with Lemmy of Hawkwind and Motorhead fame .
Maybe these acts were initially supposed to be drawn to Island?I guess these were only handed out at the conference in 1969 and never have been for sale to the public in the record shops.
I wonder how many copies have escaped from oblivion.
When will you see this gem again? The fragile gatefold cover is in EX- condition, it has a tiny tear at the bottom see picture .
The record is in EX condition.
