This is very rare and only comes around a couple of times in a lifetime.
This is a 1G/ 1G Stampers Pressing of The Beatles debut LP with incorrect Dick James Credits.
Anyone who knows record collecting knows that a 1G/ 1G stampers means that it was one of the first off the pressing machines.
The chances are that this was bought from NEMS, Brian Epstein s record store, as he had the first batch in on the day of release 22nd March, 1963.
This could be THE first Black Gold Please Please Me ever manufactured
Sleeve: Very Good condition original Gold sleeve, having unblemished laminate aside from a few very small dings along the bottom edge, and tiny corner scuffs. The opening side is neat and flat. The rear panel is clear white aside from a small area of water staining on the opening edge . The spine is Excellent and unblemished with readable text. There are neat and solid fold-over s. No tears, writing or imprints. Still a sturdy Sleeve with an unblemished front cover of the Fab Four at EMI house with no scratching or bubbling to the laminate.
Inner Sleeve: Correct and original blue die-cut text EMI inner sleeve. Retains full structure inside and out and has no splits etc. Has the Made in Great Britain and Patents Applied For text. It is the correct thinner paper type. It is slightly discoloured.
The Vinyl: Under halogen light and in broad daylight there isn t a single scratch, dink, scuff or any warps or groove wear. There are light non-feelable hairlines scattered here and there over the surfaces, and couple of ultra feint small wispy line marks. In all it is showing moderate play use, but has not been handled badly, and with nothing affecting the audio. The vinyl still presents a gleaming pressing sheen all over both sides with no areas of dulling. The vinyl is smooth all over, and probably as good as you can reasonably expect, and it is still a handsome looking example. The condition is a strong Very Good.
Lays completely flat on the turntable, heavyweight early Sixties vinyl.
The Labels: The labels don t have even a single spindle line but has light sign of spindle perimeter wear, but for an original Black Gold it really isn t too bad. The Gold typeface is perfect and unblemished and still shines out over a dark black background.

The Audio: The audio grades as Excellent and is basically faultless. How good it feels to listen to a deep mono bass first day pressing There are no distortions or imperfections over any audio. There are some soft ticks to some of the track changes in the dead wax grooves between songs, and a few hardly detectable soft ticks to a few of the intro s before audio starts, and to a few of the fade-out s as audio ends. The audio standard of this LP would be hard to beat in any case, and any imperfections due to its age have had little to no significance on the sound quality. The vocals and instrumentals are crisp and clear and lucid with no detractions throughout accompanied by a deep strong mono bass.
This is not a near Mint copy, but it is a solid all-round great sounding and great looking Beatles debut LP, which I am selling with a focus on its historical significance as a first day pressing.
