This listing is for an early Island Records pressing of the 1969 psych lp In The Court Of The Crimson King: An Observation by King Crimson. It is ILPS-9111, Stereo, comes in the original gatefold jacket, Printed made by E.J. Day, London. See the pics for further details. This pressing has the distinction of having the MATRIX s of ILPS 9111 A v 2 1 2 4 for Side one, ILPS 9111 B//4 1 1 8 for Side two. They feature the PINK island records labels that are very clean clear to read. The vinyl is VG to VG under a strong light using a magnifying glass, there are some light scratches evident on both sides from sliding in out of the sleeve. Can they be from hitting a hard surface or from on off the turntable, I don t know to be honest. The vinyl looks rarely played still has that magnetic draw to it as it s picking up some dust, etc., while I examine it. I don t have the equipment to play this test it, so will there be some background noise from these marks? Probably in a quiet moment but again, I can t test it. WHY you may ask? My house was damaged badly by Hurricane Sandy back on 10-29-12. I had heavy losses of my personal rare collection of books, records, autographs, much more. Water may have touched or destroyed a large portion of some of these items but not enough to destroy what I ve salvaged. Another part of my collection, like this lp more to come, were on higher shelves or in boxes, untouched by the water, but not rescued for awhile due to the heavy damage to my home my city as well documented. But overall, still a fine rare lp for collectors. I DON T HAVE A RECORD CLEANING MACHINE NOR THE LIQUID SOLUTION CLOTHS TO DO A THOROUGH JOB SO I LEAVE THAT UP TO THE BUYER TO DO SO, IF SO DESIRED. SIDE ONE: 1. 21st Century Schizoid Man including Mirrors 6.52 , 2. I Talk To The Wind 5.40 , 3. Epitaph including a March For No Reason b Tomorrow and Tomorrow 8.30. SIDE TWO: Moonchild including a The Dream b The Illusion 12.09, 2. The Court of the Crimson King including a The Return of the Fire Witch b The Dance of the Puppets 8.48. PERSONNEL: Robert Fripp-guitar, Ian McDonald-reeds, woodwind, vibes, keyboards, mellotron, vocals, Greg Lake-bass guitar, lead vocals, Michael Giles-drums, percussion, vocals, Peter Sinfield-words and illumination. The gatefold jacket has some marks, pushed corners with wear, the lower right front has an indentation appx 4 long which slightly bends the jacket. I m not a guy to bullshit anybody so I m being very critical here not gloating about the rarity, the condition, etc., like these other sellers that like to blow their own horn here themselves talk while patting themselves on the back. GIVE ME A BREAK DO NOT BUY THIS LP IF ANY OF THESE CONDITIONS WILL BOTHER YOU OR BE A PROBLEM FOR YOU. THIS ITEM IS SOLD AS IS. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Buyer pays the S H. The S H for the USA only is FREE SHIPPING. International rates vary by country. Please see my auctions the items in my eBay store JOHNQUARTZ COLLECTIBLES. Thank you
