Item Description

It s time to dispose of my entire Pink Floyd collection, amassed over the past 40 years, so keep an eye out for 1st pressings, monos and stereos. And some rare 45s.

I will do my best to describe each item in full and questions are welcome. I will visually grade in bright sunlight. If I find any blemishes I will grade again after playing through a Rega RP3/Ortofon/Naim setup. I do not have headphones so of course I might miss some pops and clicks - but I want to stay on good terms with my neighbours

I do not grade 50 year old records as EX, even if I think they are. I can t imagine any exist as EX outside Pink Floyd s own collections or a museum. The highest I will grade is VG .

I have not played most of the recrods I am listing. I bought them 2nd hand from very reputable dealers and just stored them away. They might benefit from a clean - I will not be cleaning any of my records before selling them as some people have strong opinions about how to clean rare vinyl.

Pink Floyd - Piper at The Gates of Dawn - early 1st press.

Blue/black Columbia SCX 6157. Stereo UK 1st pressing. 1967

Matrixes: YAX 3419 - 1 YAX 3420 -1

Stampers: 1G 1G

Tac code: K T

The sleeve does not have File Under Popular on the rear top right - so this is a genuine 1st press. It is extremely hard to find this version omitting the FUP text.

Descritpion of vinyl
In strong sunlight there are some whispy hairlines. VG
Despite my proviso in the text above, I have in fact played this LP all the way through just now, for the first time since I owned it which is about 25 years . There are a couple of visible light scratches on side 1 on tracks one, two and six - which are not finger detectable or audibly detectable. There are no skips or jumps. The sound is crisp and clear. There are of course the occasional crackles - the record is 52 years old. The record plays amazingly and the mono sound is breathtaking still after all these years. One of the classic albums of the 60s.

Descritpion of labels
Blue/black Columbia. Some small evidence of spindle marks. Tax code K T.

Descritpion of sleeve
The sleeve really is in great condtion. A definite VG . Four sharp corners. No File Under Popular. Ernest J. Day and Co. Flipback. No writing, tears, splits, or ring-wear. Four sharp corners. Three small creases in the laminate of the front cover near the right hand side, varying in length 1cm - 3 cm. The spine is perfect.

Description of inner
Original inner has small splits on left and right and bottom, approximately 5-8 cms long. Slight yellowing due to age.

A superb example and a great companion to the mono version I am selling.

I won t provide track and personnel listings - anyone bidding on these items knows anyway.

I start all my auctions at 1.00 - and never use Buy It Now, so please don t ask.

Will be dispatched from the UK during the first week of July, using Royal Mail tracked. This covers up to 250.00 insurable loss. If you require more insurance this will be at the purchaser s own expense. But personally I think tracked and signed for is sufficient. I am willing to combine postage.
