Super RARE.
original, transparent/translucent, orange/Amber marbled,Jamaican Tuff Gong pressing from 1977.
At that time, the Jamaicans were experimenting with colored vinyl and the exact quantity pressed is unknown, as are the numbers known to still exist today In my 40 years of record collecting, I have seen only a handful of these turn up reddish/orange, smoky white w/black whiffs, clear/yellowish, maroon, and brown w/gray whiffs but never another exactly like this The cover of the album is flat really no spine , glossy, gold colored, non embossed, has the original Tuff Gong 56 Hope Road address as do the labels , has Printed By Total Graphics Ltd on the back along the would be spine information and shows some shelf wear.
The labels have no Side 1, Side 2, Side A, or Side B designations and there are no Rasta Stars on the labels.
The dead wax matrix stamped are ILPS 9498 A2/B2.
The vinyl is beautiful in this color with the colorful Tuff Gong labels.
I received this record in 1977, inadvertently I guess, along with a number of black vinyl copies of Exodus that I had ordered for sale in my record store.
Since this one was different, I kept it, but it has never been played as I have other player copies.
The record is listed as new and as most imported records was never shrink wrapped.
I suspect that there is significant surface noise, as with most all colored vinyl pressings, and the crude Jamaican pressing imperfections are evident in the vinyl and on the labels.
Please pay particular attention to the photos as they are of the exact item that you are bidding on The record originally had only a generic white paper inner sleeve, which I replaced with a MOFI antistatic, and has always been kept in a poly outer sleeve.
